Insurance impossible

Today I called a bunch of companies to get a long stay (3 months or more) European insurance cover cause I might go abroad with my bike this summer. However none of the companies I called do more than 30 days continously out of the UK. I tried Norwich Union, Aquote, Motorcycle Direct, Insurance Go, eBike, RAC, AA, Footman James and none of them wanna help me. Please, what to do? What do people do when they travel far and long on their bikes?

I have a fully comp policy with carol nash and that allows upto 90 days with recovery. no limit as to how many trips in a year just says must not exceed 90 days at a time. Have used them for a number of years without any trouble. Give them a ring and see what they can do for you. I am happy with the price I pay.

I think Bennetts might do similar to Carole Nash.

Check back with eBike.

It's offered as an add-on option.
Costs about £60 for 12 month European breakdown cover.

Even with the ad-on, I've found they're more competitive than Nash.

Checked eBike and found that for an annual insurance it gets really expensive, about 700 pounds annual (this i due to my bike being parked at night by the roadside, dont have a garage). I have a good one already with Aquote (about 400 annual) and will need to cancel this if I´m buying a new one (apparently one can´t have 2 different ones on the same bike). Trying to find better solutions, cheap and 90 days continous stay abroad. Not sure what you mean by an ad on tho... Not used to deal with things like these...

Check out Carol Nash. No add ons all in. I have both my bikes on one policy and the car on another but the euro cover on them all. I do have a garage and pay £238 fully comp + protected No claims bonus for the bikes.

+1 for Carole Nash. My bike insurance is less than my car. I've been driving 20yrs and have a car that does (just) 130mph and is worth about £2500. My bike is worth almost 3x that, does 150mph and I've had my license 14mths. Car has 2yrs no claims and bike 1...

I do keep the bike in a garage, locked quite securely with a ground anchor and it's also datatagged. The car lives on the drive.

Check them out - as well as 3mths european cover you get UK wide breakdown and recovery too. Good service.
