How much should I be paying for a new Bonnie?

Hi guys,

I passed my bike test yesterday (at the second attempt) and am now looking to by a nice new 2007 Bonnie. I've never bought a new car/bike/anything before, so my question is... what sort of price can I expect to pay? Is there any negotiation on the £5,199 list price or for cash could I expect to pay 5, 10 or even 15% less? I'd rather no look like a dumb ass by trying to negotiate an impossible price, but don't want to pay more than I've got too - obviously.

I'm looking to buy from Windy Corner so any personal experiences from that particular dealership would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance
Gav

triumph dealers seem to be the hardest to `knock` down on prices, having said that you should get about £100 off and get some extras like carbon stuff etc, i got my matt black 07 speed triple with datatool4 alarm and some carbon `bling` for £7,599

I got £400 off my 06 America....but then 3 days later my salesman 'left'.....
Related....maybe.

But a £100 or so off should be obtainable....

Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
My dealer is discounting all the twins right now and good deals to be had, ex demo's are also available I think, ring Webbs of peterborough and ask to chat to Allan, great guy and will help if he can.

Try for leather jacket or other gear, I got £250 jacket when I bought a second hand TT off Triumph dealer.

Just pay the suggested retail price. Dealers don't make much on new motorcycles. They make big bucks in the service department where they really suck it to you. Keep the dealer happy by paying suggested retail.
He will treat you better "if" there is a warranty problem and no matter how you look at it you will always pay to much for a new Triumph anyways.
Compared to Japanese motorcycles your new Triumph is overpriced by about 1600.00 dollars. That's the price you pay for the honour of riding your new Bonneville. Live with it, be happy and add up the miles. A "special dealer deal" would only be peanuts anyways.
