Marshaling At Cadwell

Did'nt really fancy going down to the ACE for the Brighton run, went up to Cadwell to see what was going on instead, it was a club race weekend (NEMCCRC) and as they were short of staff volaunteered to be a track marshall, had a fantastic two days bases at the haipin, saw some really good close racing from an area of the track not acsessable to the paying public, picked up probably 7 or 8 crashed bikes and got a real insight into what goes on behind the scenes, also was fed watered and had my expences paid for the weekend, loved every minute of it and also got to ride the tona round the track to my marshal post which was pretty cool, highly reccomended.

Did you have to do any training first?

Yes you do the flags and fire equipment, I also have lots of first aid training and no way are you out there on your own, each post has an experienced marshal with the radio, I was the lifter and lugger, another guy is on the flags and the experienced guy does all the supervision of each incident and helps lugging and looking after the rider, who is the first priority, if you have a track local to you its worth contacting them if your interested.

Sounds like you had a great time doodledog - you didn't even cause any crashes by the sound of things .......
