"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Remove VAT on all motorcycle clothing, not just helmets, to encourage the wider use of protective motorcycle clothing.
Motorcycle helmets are already VAT exempt because they categorised as mandatory safety equipment. As a step towards improving road safety for motorcyclists; a reduction in cost of other protective clothing to encourage it's use. This should stop short of making such clothing mandatory whilst promoting recognition of the benefits of this equipment."

Don't hold any hope though, everything is rising, the cost of living is getting more and more expensive.
Yes we have the luxury of owning motorcycles but its getting to the stage you have to save to go for a beer. Look at how many pubs are closing around the country.
This government would be only happy if everyone could only afford to live with no pleasures at all.
They make the sheriff of Nottingham look like a saint.

Great idea but I can't see em changing the current rules. They are very unfriendly to "bikes" and this is just another turn of the screw to make motorcycling expensive and unappealing.
