Cool Joining RAT (Purpose?)

When I got my Speedmaster I rushed in and joined RAT thinking it was like a club??

I never heard anything.. still have not, my mate that joined AGES ago got a load of goodies through the mail including a really neat helmet RAT sticker! ... should I have gotten something?

My dealer, North City Triumph (great guys so Ill plug them ) gave me a membership card and a keyring when I picked my bike up.

An email to RAT also got NO reply, apart from these forums just WHAT is the purpose of the RAT?

Cheers, TrOjAn

I get a quarterly(I think it's quarterly) mag Sounds like you're getting crap customer service from Triumph though Has your dealer not explained the benefits of RAT? They should have a list of rides/activities planned for the year that you could joing in with.

Bazman,

Yea the dealer has a site etc and theres RAT runs on it, I joined one in the P****G down rain to The Ace but I thought I might have got a badge or something to say Im a member, apart from the plastic members card.

I was more annoyed an email to the main RAT headquarters didnt even warrant a reply!! that really naffs me off.

Prier to 2006 you had to pay a yearly fee to join RAT, so you got some goodies for your money, But as joining RAT is now FREE all you get is your membership Card and a Quarterly mag called Torque. you also get to join in any RAT Pack event or RAT Raid. Being a member of RAT is as good as YOU make it, if you don't find out about events and join in, you wont get anything out of joining RAT. For LINKS to info on RAT events check out the RAT Quick Links, A STICKY on this forum. or Click this Link :- http://www.triumphrat.net/showthread.php?t=23336

TRIUMF3,

OK, that makes a lot of sense.... I dont mind paying but if they no longer do that then thats sorted

As for joining in, Im with you on that... Mind you, I notice a distinct LACK of NON sports bikes in nearly all the RAT photos.

Thanks for the answers ..

Distinct lack of sprorts bikes... I never see another America when I go out riding... But I like that. I also like the fact that on the twisty turnies, I keep up! No chance on the straight bits though. But I don't have an America to go fast.

If a Pack ride is worth running, it has to acknowledge that Triumph don't just make sports bikes. The Thruxton would keep up, but the Americas, Speedmasters and Bonnies won't. Neither would the Legends, Adventurers and the Thunderbirds.

I also feel that Triumph doesn't really care about the Twin range, so won't show pics of them in our mag. But for a freebie.....

whufc0. I got a speedmaster.. yellow and black, just did the jets and unifilter and pipes and man it runs good... my mate on his T100 gets away a smal aount on the bends but not enough to sto me getting him on the straight.

EnglishWombat. Do you have standard exhausts?? if you got the short TOR`s consider r jetting and adding a uni filter.. they wont get that far away then. ride like you stole it
