Hi guys! I had this on Twin Talk, but someone suggested I post it here as well.

I'm going to the UK mid September to visit my daughter for about 10 days or so, and would like to rent a bike and spend some time exploring. Thing is, she's in Bedford and the retal/hire outlets all seem to be in London. Not surprisingly, being unfamiliar with left side of the road riding, different signage, traffic rules, etc., I'm not keen on riding through a busy city first thing! Does anyone know of a place that hires bikes which might be a better bet than a London outlet? I've searched on the net without luck, but perhaps there are places that don't have web sites. Any suggestions are appreciated - either posted or PM'ed.

Bob

Bob, be careful, not all bike hire companies hire out helmets and other bike clothing.
If you can only find the bike you want to hire in London, I may be able to help. I am a Motorcycle Instructor, based in London and living in Luton. I could meet you at the bike hire place, with radios and introduce you to the delights of riding in London! Could guide you all the way to Bedford.
OR try http://www.sawbridgeworth-bmw.co.uk/ They are in Hertford, nice cross country run from Bedford, again could meet you there or if you could get to Luton, could give you a lift.
Hope this helps, have a good trip.

Nick

guess we shouldnt kidnapp this thread, but i recomended you guys as myself and my cousin passed with elite, to an ex gilfriend of mine (Emma Lycett). She recently passed and said after thinking about an S4, that an instructor let her sit on his tt600. So, friendly instructor+london+tt600...what are the odds . Don't see you posting in the supersports much? perhaps we should take this to messages

Good detective work! How is Emma? Sure Bobmig would not mind us hi jacking thread a little, have had a PM from him so hoping to meet him, when he comes over. Perhaps we could meet up, compare notes? North London meet? Big meets are all well and good but take a lot of organising, Keep It Simple! Start of a new thread, methinks!

she's well, think still looking for a bike. She said she'd like to ride on the kill spills ride 9th sept. She just got in touch to say she'd passed as I had told her to go to you to train. Maybe the kill spills would be a good chance for us london lot to meet up? I've got it in my diary and will see if Emma can make it. hows that sound? if you think yes then perhaps carry on on the killspills post...

Bob

Did you get anything sorted?

What dates are you over here for? What sort of bike are you looking to hire?
