Had a police car pull over at the legal speed limit to let me pass - lets spread some love. Nice one.

i overtook a porsche at 115 and didnt realise it was being followed by an unmarked police car. they soon decided to follow me, within a few seconds of them pulling out from behind the porsche I was out of the fast lane and quickly down to the limit. they pulled in behind me and tailed me for a while.
Guess I was showing good observation even at speed and wasnt being wreckless.
They showed thier presence and that I should cool it.
Result? I slowed, message understood, no paperwork, no fine or points, no delays to journeys and better police/biker relations

I just passed safely & sensibly with no fireworks, perhaps it was a one off, perhaps I was lucky, or maybe there's a letter in the post!

Sorry but I don't trust em. Its not coppers as people who are bad its the system they have to work with.

Our Police stopped being there to serve and protect the citizen, as our American cousins say, some years ago.

Nowadays they seem to be there to control and rule over the citizen.

Govt tgts and a superior attitude have ruined policing and many other aspects of public service. The attitude of superiority over the rest of us is endemic in the police.

Nowadays we are all treated as potential criminals rather than citizens to be protected. The Police are there to serve us not as things seem nowadays for us to serve them and their govt masters.

Discuss as AOL tell us!

In my works car (ok - it was marked up in high vis with orange light bar) I overtook an unmarked police car at 85-90mph. He flashed his grill blues and I immediately indicated to pull in and he turned them off again - seeing me being observent he just gave me a little scare. :

I asked for some people to be removed from my train (I'm a Guard...) as they were drunk and rude, and scared me $hitless. At one point I had 6 men having a go at me...
I'd got the train diverted into a station - we should have been fast to the next station - 1hr 20mins away.
The local constabulary decided they weren't drunk, and that I was making it up..... their mate told me they'd been drinking all day.... and I had a witness who agreed their behaviour had been unacceptable.

However ultimately I have the final say as to who travels... or I cancel the train.

That was 2 minutes away...

It has shaken me up. I'm off work at the mo over it.

However there are a couple of the Transport police at my home station who are brilliant. I spoke to one and she couldn't believe what had happened...

At the minute I have no respect for the police. I called for help with a problem and they wouldn't help.

I notice with some incredulity the reactions of the police to ManxKat and Scarpa in North Wales. I thought that the North Wales Chief Constable Mr. Brunstrom decreed that everyone exceeding 35mph should be hanged, drawn and quartered!

Well this occurred just at the Welsh border near Chester, so I am assuming that the driver was not one of the minions of the arch Satan himself. :-D

He's usually busy organising helicopters to speedtrap deserted country roads

It has happened to me earlier in the year, out having a little bimble around the country, maybe a little over the limit but never the less speeding, noticed a police car behind me and wonder where the hell they popped up from, i knocked the speed down and waited for the blues to go and pull me over. Nope, they passed me when we hit a straight and promptly sat in front for the next 10 to 15 minutes at the speed limit, which had me a bit miffed as i was thinking to myself i will find the next turn off and***** off, surprisingly they then slowed, pulled over and let me past again, giving me a knowing nod and a wave of the finger.

i got the message and duely bimbled away, thanking my lucky stars, they not all bad!!!
