just got an email off triumph,

''Hi Russell,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately I am unable to accommodate you on a tour when requested.

We close down for our summer break on the 21st July and reopen on the 14th August.

The factory tours only take part during the working week with two tours a day Monday to Thursday and one on Friday mornings for the maximum of twenty people.

If you wish to book a tour for your group, you will need to book well in advance, infact I have nothing available this year so you will have to think of something for next year.
Best Regards

Pete Clarke
Factory Tour Guide ''

so unfortunatly no triumph tour, however i'm sure we could find something else to do, any ideas??

*****, I thought as much. Best way to get on a tour is via a local dealer or RAT group.

Ok well, perhaps we can aim to meet at the factory,as you suggest at say midday on the day in question? It's easy enough to find, after all.

That way it's not an insanely early start for those coming from further afield.

And then a ride down to the National Motorcycle Museum in Brum, or a bimble down to Stratford for afternoon tea?

Is the plan to offer two dates as a possibility? And then go with the majority?

OK, so off the top of my head:

Dates:

Sunday July 9th: as above - factory meet.
(World Cup Final day so all the spuds will be home watching TV ;) )

Sunday July 16th:

- Mallory Park (Leicester so central) racetrack meetup, ride into the factory or vice versa. (EMRA bike race there that day)
- same as July 9th

Sunday July 23rd:

- BSB at Oulton Park (I'm there all weekend so can't make a meet)
- same as July 9th factory option

Sunday July 30th:
-same as July 9th factory option

I can't think as far ahead as August yet ...

I've gone for Sundays as perhaps that may be the best day for most of us?

Flame away

 :-D

Maybe this idea would be better suited to our supersports forum but I will run it by you guys here, I know it may be a bit pricey but why not a track day/evening? Ride as fast or slow as you want, meet up together and no plod to ruin the party. What do you all think, and no I am not a track rider either, it would jst be about fun, not racing. :???: :-D

4th august cadwell park evening trackday £49, seeing as theres no tour at triumph maybe meet at skegness then ride over to cadwell for a trackevening, even for those not taking part on track its still a good run to skeg and cadwell and fun to watch us novices shitin it over the mountain!

I am only 40 miles from Cadwell and can offer parking and a couch Rik, and up to maybe 5 more, just bring somthing to drink that night and something to chuck on the BBQ and you are welcome, same goes for anyone heading to snetterton from the West, thats about 70 miles to the East of me, would make it more bearable to break the journey :-D :-D

I'm on leave for the first two weeks in August so I'm open to suggestions - I'm between Cadwell and Hinckley so it makes no odds to me but I can see how how Cadwell may be difficult for the likes of the Bristolians etc

ARRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

I'm not Bristolian - I just live here!!!!

Sorry rant over.

If it's north....I can stop at the olds - they live just west of Nottingham, or further north, I have a mate just north of Manchester, and could stop at his...

BUT I'm not sure I'd make the effort for a track day. I know that makes me sound like a sourpuss, but I have two trains of thought...

1) I ride a cruiser. They're not made for going 'fast'. They can and do - on a straight line. Cornering....yeah I throw it around in the city, but I only on the roads I know. And know really well.

That leads in to:

2) I'm still relatively new. I don't feel that I'll enjoy being intimidated trundling around a circuit till I know it, and by that point I'll have to go back in....

On the other hand it'll be good to meet you all - I've meet some really nice people through bonnevilleamerica.com, and I'm sure you are all as nice....

gina, i know your bike isn't suited to track use but i've seen harleys and bmw gs's on track before and the riders said how much they enyoyed it, also this is a novice track day only so there are no nutters out on track
you could just come for the ride, meet me in notts and we could ride up together meet everyone in skeg then head off to cadwell and either take part or just watch all us novices on track
the session should end for around 8/8.30
i've done this trackevening already and all i have is praise for the instructors its a real laugh and there is no pressure to go nuts or get your knee down
