Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
Well just home and sitting in my comfy chair reflecting on the meet, really good to see the guys who turned up and the roads and area are stunningly good, However, the Police presence up there was really heavy, poor old Hinckley boy got pulled one the cat and fiddle for crossing a solid white line which dampened the spirits a bit, but one the way back to Buxton, we saw what can happen, either a bike or car crossed a line on a tight bend and collided, the biker it seems, and I did not see it happen only the result, went down and it appears two others stacked into his bike, the result when we got there was what looked like a bomb going off in a bike shop, there was the remains of three very smashed sports bikes in one big heap, happy to say everyone was up on there feet but man it looked bad any way great to see you all again and Russ don't be put off, it happens you know and we all ride pretty safe anyway just see and learn mate. hope to see you all again soon and please post your pics up here. Doodle

Did I miss something? Was this a rideout organised on here or via a dealer's ratclub?

Yep, the accident looked a mess. First thoughts on seeing there was a Triumph logo in all the bits on the road was that it was one of the riders who had just set off from the pub. Very unsettling. Glad to hear that the people involved didn't seem seriously injured.

Nice to meet you guys. Apologies for being slow/incompetent/unconfident and probably holding you up. Not the bike's fault - more like mine.

Went back A515 from Buxton to Ashbourne. It was quite nice and hardly any traffic, except the odd caravan combo doing 30ish. Home in time for beer and footie.

Cheers,

Pat

I went up the Cat & Fiddle a bit later on (mate & I decided to forgoe the footie to gain clear roads) and saw bits of a fairing still hung up on the fence near a bend. There was a bit of police presence too but I'm glad that no one, it seems, was badly injured.

On the way there we went up the A34 to the summit and were passed a double deck Routemaster bus, with 'Marble Arch' or something on the headcode, coming the other way!

Anyone who knows this roller-coaster road will realise what a bonkers sight this was - I thought I was on a Doctor Who set for a second (but not for much longer, mind).

Jon
