I'm not looking to start a war but which do you guys prefer? I'm going to be over for the TT next year and wanted to do some riding in addition to the races. We're looking at doing a backroads/pub crawl kind of deal and I would like to see some castles and ruins and that kind of thing. Are England and Scotland a better idea? Is there much to see in Ireland as far as that kind of thing is concerned?

What do you guys think?

Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
As a true Englishman I would say go to Ireland its lovely, welcoming and so laid back, plus I think you will find the Police better In Ireland, waiting now for someone to shoot me down for not saying come to England, but thats my opinion :-D

Ireland is ok,but road surfaces are variable and the standard of driving is poor, expect oncoming vehicles on the wrong side of the road. Also not many castles.
My recommendation after the TT would be Scotland, particularly the west coast north of Glasgow.
A82 to Fort William and then you have an endless choice of fantastic roads, scenery, plenty of castles and mountains. Recommend :
Glencoe
Kyle of Lochalsh
Isle of Skye
Gairloch
Ulapool
and if you can get further north to Cape Wrath

Let's face it,even the place names sound awesome.
We will be up there for the Highlands Raid next week with a couple of days tagged on for the west coast. These are the best biking roads in the UK.Let's hope for good weather, which can't be guaranteed in Scotland or Ireland (or England)
