Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
Well got up in work today(Iam a residential care manager), got the S4 out of the garage no battery pwer zilch, jump started her from a car AGAIN, running rough but settled ok eventually, set off for home thought I would give her some on the bypass to boost up the batt, Blue flashing light on my tail, pulled in cop in unmarked car fully speed check equipped has clocked me at average 95mph in a sixty, totally my own fault, after a chat about the bike deaths in Lincolnshire I get him calling S4 a Yamaha, I says no mate its a Triumph he then looks bike over and comments on my can, ok so here we go again, he just says Nice bike mate and as you have a reason for speeding ie trying to charge her up i will only report you for 60+ and you wont have to go to court/risk a ban Instead I have got 3 more points and a £60 fine I then go home and tell Triumph about the Batt they say we will put a new one on charge call in today before 5pm and we will put it on for you so I am a pratt not all cops are bastids and now I have a new batt, now going to lock myself away before anything else happens, Ps see all you guys going to the ACE on sunday, i will be getting there SLOWLY

You lucky***** 30+ over the speed limit is usually a short ban

I got caught by unmarked car 2 years ago on the A1M @ 100.51 mph

Had to go to court and plead for leniency as I need my licence for my Job, already had 3 point magistrates gave me a further 6 points and £350.00 + £50.00 costs! just got 3 points back so on 6 now so can be a bit less paranoid

What really cheeses me off tho is that you can ride/drive like a complete tosser and as long as you don't break the speed limit there is little chance of you getting caught, as there are so few cops on the road its all down to speed cameras

Like the twerp who was undertaking like a loon on the A3 in London today nearly knocked a guy of his bike! in front of me

Slowed down for all the cameras tho!

They even have these silly (cheaper) highway officers now who can basically only direct traffic and help remove debris

I would prefer a traffic cop anyday at least he can make a human judgement on things

Motorcycle cops are probably the best of the bunch as they know whats what with us bikers. Last year I was on my Ex-mil Armstrong and the back wheel caught some diesel in the wet on a large roundbout. The back slid out, I put my right boot down, it looked like I was grass tracking!!! I couldn't pull the clutch in fast enough and the bike stopped straddling two lanes. Those of who know of Armstrongs they are a 500cc 4 stroke single, kick start, and can be a pig to start. Next thing I know theres a motorcycle cop who stopped the traffic while pushed the bike to the side of the road. Afterwards he came over and asked if he could help!!!! Fair play I thought.

Phil

I agree. I'm getting sick to death of this over regulated nanny fugging state I live in. Its got to be getting bad because bike magazines keep doing articals trying to make us believe the UK is still a great place to bike in. Balls I say. And as for cameras? Everyone you speak to hates the things. So why doesn't everyone just stop paying up. Non complience killed the poll tax here and speed cameras in Canada. I wonder sometimes why we are all rolling over so easily.

I've had a few tickets from the tax boxes. Two I ignored and never heard from again as they were forwarded from a previous address. Recently I paid up on two but only after a protracted letter writing campaign. The next one if and when it comes is going to court before they get any more money out of me.

If they want to criminalise me for as the police say in their training "making good progress" then the hypocrits will have to work for it. Those illegitimates on the bench will all have broken the limit at some point yet they smugly take people's licences away for doing something they themselves have do or do regularly. It stinks. Fight the power as some rap band once said.

phew rant done on with discussion.

Well, it's all down to the money.
Cameras make money, bike ( or any other kind of ) cops
cost money.
If every single voter lobbied their MP and declared that they would rather our taxes went on more police, perhaps they would take note. But I doubt it. They will only do something when they all start to lose their licenses to the ubiquitous Tax Machines.
That day cannot come soon enough.

..I'm told the cameras inside the boxes have very expensive lenses...not that I'm encouraging someone to take an angle grinder to the base...
