Just got back from a week and a half in the Vosges Mts . They are in Alsace. The bit of France that has see sawed between Germany and France over the centuries.

Was good fun hustling the D1200 through Mountain hairpins. Even better fun showing its heels to the Honda Fireplace mounted member of our group.
Can recommend the region. Some great roads and compact enough to do a lot in a day without those M way slogs in between.
