Going to London ... renting a bike

Next week I'll be travelling to London (I live in the US, New Jersey).

Sadly I can't take my Speed Triple with me (I WISH!!!)

However I'm considering renting a bike for a couple of days and ride around the south of England just for the fun of it.

Aside from the fact that you guys drive on the WRONG side of the road over there (ha-ha), anybody has any tips, suggestions, best places to ride to, etc?

Things I should watch out for, either good or bad?

Thanks!

do you have roundabouts (rotaries/circles) where you live? cos we have them everywhere over here. and you'll be going the "wrong way" on them.

also there is no equivalent to right turn on red unless it is specifically signed.

fixed speed cameras in yellow boxes all over the place too.

There is no right on red period. Sometimes there is a filter light though which will light up but is just the same as a green light (for your lane)

Daaaaaaaaang:

http://www.triumphmotorcycletours.co...cle-tours.aspx

I wish I had knows about this sooner. I should have asked you guys a month ago ...

It's too late now.

I made a few calls and all bikes are booked ...

Was going to London to see family and I totally didn't think about renting a bike until last week ... clearly too late in the game.

Oh well, next time, but that Triumph tour looks awesome!!

I'm doing it next time for sure!

Thanks!

Not knowing where you're gonna be but here are a couple of bike hire places - I know nothing about them (good or bad) but maybe others on here will

http://superbikerental.co.uk/
http://www.motorcycle-hire.co.uk/
http://www.motorcyclehireuk.com/
http://www.2wheeltravel.com/Motorcyc...ire/ukhire.htm

If this isn't enough, do what I did put "motorcycle hire in UK" in Google - there's plenty about!!!
