MCN has created a 10 Downing Street petition calling for three-time speeder Meredydd Hughes to be axed as the Association of Chief Police Officers’ road policing head.
MCN launched the petition after it emerged Hughes’ department had proposed to MPs that motorcycles were ‘motorised toys’ which should be banned from the roads.
It tells the Prime Minister Hughes should not have responsibility for road policing as only last year he was banned from driving for hitting 90mph in a 60mph zone.
The deadline for signatures is January 27.
