Petition against wire barriers

This has come up before, but always worth plugging away.

Petition to never ever allow wire barriers to be placed on British roads

According to MCN (motorcycle news)IAM (institute for advanced mororist)have stated that rural roads should be fitted with wire crash barriers "cheese cutters" that would and have (in NZ 21 so far) cut riders in half i appeal to the government to never consider this and for all riders motorcycle and bycicle to consider hitting one of those and think about the consequences and with one voice say NO!

There were rides supporting the removal of the Cheescutters in several cities here in New Zealand. I attended the closest one to my home.
If you don’t have them get out and make some noise.
These barriers are “cost effective’ in other words they are the lowest cost of $$$ option.
They may be ok for stopping cars but the road is for all users, including motorcyclists.
They have many Cheescutter barriers here in N.Z. and I wonder why they are placing these deadly structures on the roadside when they are removing and moving other things to a position to provide enhanced safety for road users. Go figure that one
