Looking for fellow rats to play with and maybe form a chapter in central NC, Greensboro area. New dealership in town is interested in giving some support, such as open houses, bike nights, etc. Reply to this post or pm me if interested. Cheers!
Awrighty then. PM me and we'll set up a meet at the dealership. They have promised time and space; good guys. Rode with them in Randolph toy run. Way cool to ride with other triumphs.
Hey, just joined the site and have been to the Gboro dealer a couple of times as well. They've done some work on my bike and was pleased with their service.
Please keep me in the loop as well.
I will be moving to the Triad area from Seattle in a month or so. Next week I will be out there looking for a house to move into. Last October I stopped in to the Triumph shop and chatted with the - nice folks. I'm looking forward to exploring the area more on my Scrambler.
Welcome to the area Forrest.
There are plenty of places to enjoy your scrambler in this region.
Have thought about a dual sport as a 2nd bike for some time due to the nearby mountains and gravel roads.
I'll second the welcome. I know there's great riding in the pac nw but you'll find plenty of dandy riding in this area. Be happy to show you! Follow this site for updates on our rat gatherings.
Ok, all this crappy weather has not let my take the 'bird in for new tires yet. But, I have talked to the guys at Select Cycle and they're all in for a RAT nite get together, we just have to set a date. I hope to see 'em next week, and we'll iron that out and I'll re-post. Come on, spring! Cheers!:ride
Ok, guys, the date's been set for our first RAT-nite get together for the Triad. It will be on Thursday evening, 5-7pm, March 26th, at Select Cycle/Triad Triumph (aka Scooternerds) at 430 N. Eugene Street in Greensboro, just across from the Grasshoppers Stadium. All Brit-bike riders, or anyone interested in learning more about the Triumph brand, are welcome to come check us out, learn about our local dealer and meet and hear from other Triumph owners, as well as discuss future get-togethers, rides, and events. Light refreshments available, and be sure to ride your bike if the weather's good! Cheers!:BritishFlag
I am 1/2 way across the country in my move from Seattle so I will be there. I just don't know if the bike transport company will have my Scrambler there by that date. Fingers crossed I will have the Triumph that comes the furthest for the meet.
Hey all! New Triumph rider here. I'll be picking up my shiny new '14 Thruxton tomorrow morning from those Select Cycle/ Scooter Nerd fellas. They've been fantastic in helping me get on my dream bike. I would love to come out to the meet with you guys, but I usually don't get off work until 7, but maybe the boss will be a little generous that evening.
Hope you guys are getting out there and enjoying this wonderful weather!
Edit to add a picture of the new, currently unnamed, Thrux
Hey Mav, I've sat on your bike. You're getting an awesome machine. Hope to see you this Thurs. nite, and that the weather's good so we can ride our bikes to the dealer.
Also, calling on all Trumpet riders form Southern VA, and Central NC and beyond to come join us at Select Cycle/Scooternerds, the only Triumph dealer between Charlotte and Raleigh, for our first ever RAT meeting this Thursday, March 26th, from 5pm to 7pm. Light refreshments and a chance to meet and hang with others who "Go their Own Way--For the Ride."
Just check my latest weather app report. So far, shows showers/poss. storm in am, but only cloudy/partly cloudy in the afternoon. Hopefully that will hold true. :ride
Well, the latest ETA from Haul Bikes has my Scrambler arriving a week too late for this one so I'll be rolling the Nissan pick-em-up this time but I will swing by for a bit at least.
Thanks guys for coming out. We'll plan another get together soon. Meanwhile, join me for Blue Ridge Bikefest in Roanoke, VA, on Sat., April 11, and/or Raleigh Eurobike on Sun, April 12.
And a big thank you to Triad Triumph/Select Cycle for hosting us tonight, and for your continuing support!
BTW; Mav, Derswede; Sorry we missed ya, hope to see ya next time!
We're riding down to Raleigh on Sun., April 12, for the Eurobike show. Meeting up at 8:30 or so at Citgo at corner of Hwys 22 & 62 in southern Guilford Co. We'll link up with some other folks at the Quick Chek in Liberty on W. Swannanoa Dr. around 9, then head on down to Raleigh via mostly backroads. Join us!
And the day before, a couple of us are riding to the Blue Ridge Bikefest in Roanoke, Va. Leaving the Greensboro area about 8 or so. PM me for details.
The Scramblinator has landed!
It looks like it's time to start riding.
Joel, Alex, I will be meeting up with you for at least one of the rides next weekend, maybe both.
One of these days I won't be working when we do a ride or meet! It's an unfortunate downside of working a rotating schedule when our shop is open 7 days a week. I don't have set days off
Anyway - if anyone is interested - I'm thinking of doing a photo shoot of my bike at Marshall Freehouse one afternoon in a week or two. If you've never been, it's a British Pub themed restaurant and on one of their exterior walls they have a giant painted Union Jack, Big Ben, and a Beefeater holding a pint.
I've got a couple more bits and pieces I'm going to install on the new Thruxton before I do it, so I'll post up again when I pick a date.
