Any other RAT riders in Jacksonville Florida? Looking to meet up with some other Triumph riders.... Shoot me a message or reply, we can set something up... Karl
I bought my Triumph Explorer at Streit's in Gainsville but Beach Blvd Motorsports here in Jax is now the local Triumph dealer. They don't have a big selection of bikes yet but supposedly have a Triumph certified mechanic. I really like the service and folks over at Streit's so will probably take my bike back there for maintenance and such. However, it's nice to know that I can order parts and accessories locally.
Google street view only shows a used Honda motorcycle dealer there. I tried checking their website for any mention of Triumph, but didn't find any. Orange Park, coincidentally is the part of town the old dealer that went out of business was located in.
The shop Orange Park Powersports has been closed for a while now. They moved all their bikes (all 6 of them) to Jax Powersports on Atlantic just west of the Southside Blvd intersection.
Some of the parts were also sold to the Suzuki dealership on Blanding for some reason. I got my new pads from them.
I'm not in jax but just up the road in savannah. Am looking for oother tiger riders to ride with. This looks like the closest group to me that I can find. If y'all don't mind a ga. Boy in the crowd
Hi all, I just purchased a 2013 Bonnie and rode home from Tallie a couple nights ago. I guess, it was the coldest night of the year, just my luck.
I wanted to let ya'll know that I visited Ton Up, today, and they have recently recieved a visit from the Triumph rep for the South East. I left with a nice 110th anniversery pin (nice enamel piece) and key chain, free of charge! They also gave me a nice Ton Up sticker. They also gave me a tour and showed me all their vintage bikes and let me know they have a social on Fridays at 6.
My point is, I walked into a motorcycle shop/garage/meeting house and wasn't treated like an a$$hole!! I was offered a tour of the place, told to make myself at home and not pressured to buy things. This and the fact that I live in the area makes me a VERY happy camper. Also, they have an onsite mechanic who comes highly recommended.
That's just my experience, for what it's worth. They also have a race team that does historics, so that's super cool. The owner told me he can get any parts in the catalog for me. I'm glad I found out about this because the old dealer in Orange Park had such a bad rep, that I wouldn't have given them a dollar had they NOT gone out of business.
Also, I am down for meet ups in the area (Riverside, West Side), but I am not a crotch rocket guy, so I may not be able to keep up with you.
Welcome! It's great to hear you had a nice cool ride home and got to swing by Ton Up. I've been meaning to stop by for quite a while. I hardly get a chance to ride, outside of to and from work, but one of these days maybe.
Hello Kriv, I'll PM you my contact info.
Sadly I cannot ride during the week but there are a few Triumph riders in University here that may be off during the week.
Currently there is no local RAT club but the dealer (Cycles of Jacksonville) did seem interested and willing to help. :smile2:
I'm on Anastasia so I will begin at Armstrong/207. It starts across from the fairgrounds so anyone wants to join I'll stop there by the road at 11 Sunday. Thoughts appreciated if you know this bit.
*Update: just saw what Sunday was but Mrs K and my Mom are both out of town...
I was running about 20 minutes late but there was no one at the fairgrounds when I got to that corner. I completed the ride and it was very pleasant with clean roads all through the farms and ranches between 95 and the river. There are several opportunities to do the ton, just miles of straight flat roads with no traffic or homes anywhere.
