Any RATS in the Adirondack region?

I have been up here since mid May and the only other Triumph I have seen was in the parking lot of a auto parts store. I do the majority of my riding in the Adirondacks with an occasional run into Vermont. I you are ever going to be up in this region give me a call out. Stay safe and enjoy your ride, you have a lot of good roads east and west of you that a Scrambler would be right at home on.

swaymix - I have already gone south for the winter. As long as knee work goes well I will be back in the spring and will give you a shout out. By the way, I think that the TBird series that you have is the best looking bike Triumph has come up with since they started back up production. If the power unit is anything like the Sprint RS I used to have it has to be an awesome ride. Enjoy the winter and see you when the snow melts.

wow didn't think Spitzies could eb out priced by a corporate structure, I do know they were not very versed in selling Triumph's, as a long running Harley dealership they gotta go with what they know.

I purchased my Scrambler from Greenriver Powersports in Greenriver Mass, good transaction they are definitely looking to keep the Triumph marquee

I ride the Storm up to visit family in Newcomb a couple of times a summer. I'm usually in the cage with my Fiance and dogs but do go up solo on occasion. I love riding 28 - 28N from Inlet to Newcomb. That's a great road to ride on now that they have it resurfaced.

Hey Grumpy, How'd you fair with this hurricane nonsense? I'm in Melbourne and had no house damage but the power was out till today. Still feel VERY lucky though. My 07' Sprint ST was just delivered on Tuesday of this week. Found it at a dealership on the west coast of Florida. It seemed like all I could find on the East coast was silver or gray ones. That just isn't me so I bought the Tornado Red one.
Clue me in. Hope you fared well.

Hello britrider1 and welcome to the forum. I am in Lakeland and for us this storm was a total non event. No significant rain, moderate wind and no power outage for me. The biggest issue was that we got into Lakeland on Tuesday night late and getting everything unloaded from the truck and trailer in one day is a bit more than I normally do. What dealer did you get your bike from? I use Motorcycle Enthusiasts in Spring Hill for any significant work on my bike, I do most myself. During the summer I am in the town of Caroga Lake, just north of Gloversville and Johnstown. Have you managed any rides yet or are the roads still bollixed up over that way? Have a good day.

Tug Hill Rider

Hi guys and gals.
I'm a lifelong rider from northern NY state. Tug Hill Plateau.
I've ridden the larger Jap bikes since my 1984 V65 Sabre. Rode Valkyries for years.
I ride a Stratoliner and a Vulcan 2000. I like the big torque and comfort that they provide.
I'm interested in the Rocket III Roadster. I like the riding position, big gas tank, and huge torque. I want to find out about reliability issues and maintenance procedures.
Things like how expensive to keep it tuned up.
What a clutch or stator might cost to replace.
What a valve adjustment might cost and how often.
Favorite Darkside tires.
Windshields and lowers that work without much buffeting.
Highway pegs and crash bars.
Things I may need to adjust so my 5'7",27" inseam body will be comfortable.
Thanks for having me.

JJ

I just purchased a 2021 Tiger 900 GT, and live in Queensbury, just beside Lake George. Looking forward to learning about the Triumph "world". I came from a '14 Vstrom 1000 that I had for 6 years and 50,000 miles. Loved that bike to death. Hoping my relationship with the Tiger will be equally enjoyable. If anyone lives near me and wants to get together for riding, let me know. I believe there will be a Triumph get together in Bennington this year??? Hope to attend that weekend. Just beginning to learn how to navigate this forum.

Welcome, Chirosyd.

I'm down in Binghamton, but plan to be at Americade in September. We should try a get together then.

I've been to the Bennington Bash a few years back. I'll look into it again.

Also, NEVA 21 will take place in Galeton PA from August 5-8. Great bunch of riders. Vstrom group but all bikes are welcome. I will be picking up my 2021 Tiger 900 GT next month, and riding it from the Adirondacks to PA for this event. Take a look if you have a chance - NEVARally
I corresponded with Mark from advrider.com who I believe is involved in the Bennington Bash. He said it will either take place in June or September.

And I will add a plug for my favourite upstate motorcycle place - NY Safety Track NYST | New York Safety Track . There is a first time track rider school each Saturday that is included in admission price. It's also not racing, just track riding, and fellow riders have always been friendly and helpful.

They have four classes, begining at novice. Expert class requires a track license and entirely race prepared bike. Lower three classes just require painters tape on mirrors and headlights.

I have seen all sorts of bikes there, including adventure and big cruisers.

Camping is available at track. I usually stay at nearby Worcester Inn.

For anyone here that has a carbureted Speedmaster or America. I have the official America and Speedmaster Service Manual, Pt Number 3856380, that I would like to donate to anyone that is willing to come to my house and pick it up. I can't ride anymore don't want to let this manual to just mold and collect dust. I am in Caroga Lake just off of Route 10 in Fulton County. I am going to be here for another 3 weeks then will be going south for the winter. The pick up could be part of a nice ride, the trees are starting to turn and the run up 10 up to 8 and north on 30 will be great soon. PM if interested.
