Triumph Bennington Bash 2012 ( Bennington, VT)
The Triumph Bennington bash will be held from June 1st to June 3rd this year. It's a large triumph meetup that includes many scenic and fun rides and activities throughout the weekend.
Many people stay in the hotels in town, but there is also camping nearby. A good number of people take advantage of both options. So whichever you choose, you will find a solid social element.
The most popular option in town is the Paradise Inn. If you call to book a room, please make sure that you mention that you are part of the Triumph Bennington Bash. There is a block of rooms reserved for us. They are most likely already booked to capacity outside of the block of rooms so they will tell you that are full if you don't mention this. Also, if we don't utilize the rooms that were blocked off this year, it will make it harder to get a block for future gatherings.
Here is the website for the Paradise Inn
http://www.vermontparadiseinn.com/
The number is 802-442-8351
The are many other hotels/motels in town, as well.
Anyway, this is a great event and certainly worth a weekend. You can take advantage of any number of organized rides in the vermont/upstate NY area, or just do your own thing during the day and hang out with other riders at night for a chat. There is a large dinner usually organized for Saturday night, but other than that, it is pretty free-form.
BTW, all bikes are welcome. I most likely won't even ride up on a triumph myself.

there are several NYC metro riders going up Thurs and talk of a loose confederacy has begun; me, marcsiry, MajorDilemma, triumphstyle, boudiepitbulland johanna, plus others, are likely to meet up with some CT Rockers in Millerton, NY, almost halfway there up Rt 22.

I've made my reservations @ the Paradise Inn, and didn't even know about the block of rooms. I had heard about the event through a phone call with a friend, Googled the hotel's website and found that I couldn't get a room.
I called them and complained that their "website isn't working" or "is it that you are filled up from the Triumph Bennington Bash event?"
That's when he told me that there were still some rooms available under the group's block of reserved. I have a half-dozen or so other friends attending, all on Triumphs. I'm confused, BlackTigNYC. If you have a Triumph and are part of organizing this, why wouldn't you ride it there?

I'm not an organizer of this event. I'm just advertising it to make people in the northeast region aware.

We all want to see his Super Tenere that he's been talking about since last year (like a "girlfriend in Canada")

Just a FYI, while camping is fun an d economical, the main reason I'm in town is I can walk to the various drinking establishments. I don't ride after basically any amount of alcohol.

I agree...drinking and riding is a bad idea. I'm staying in town for similar reasons.
However, there is usually a large group of people that hang out at the campground in the evening instead of the Bennington bars, so for those that want to camp, you can still party with other riders. I believe that most of the CT rockers camped last year. There are plenty of people to hang with over there. There is one large space in the campground where everyone camps together. I think there were roughly 15 tents on the site each night of last year (give or take) and maybe 30-40 people.
The campground is about 8 miles outside of Bennington down a very dark winding road. You should not be on that road at night after drinking any alcohol.

There's also a hostel/dorm at the campground for those on a budget. A friendly couple runs the place.

I'd like to attend as long as I can get my wheels mobile by then. I'm local enough to ride home for the night.
