Reminder Burkes Pass Overnighter
Hello
Just a reminder about the Burkes Pass overnighter on Saturday October 27th for TOMCC and RAT members. Also Triumph riders who are not affiliated to any clubs are welcome.
Saturday 27th of October, 9am sharp we leave 7 Birch Street, Bexley to head
for Burkes Pass. Please make sure you are there well before 9am and we won't
be sticking round waiting for late arrivals. I will be taking my van as a
support vehicle so if you have any gear you want transported then be early
and pack it in the van. If you prefer to drop the gear off to my home prior
to the Saturday then ring me on 388-0302 and make arrangements to drop it
off. Please be realistic in what you want transported as there will be
limited space.
We will have a brief stop at Geraldine for refreshments around 11 - 1130am
so if any members from outside of Christchurch want to hook up that's where
we will be (look for the bikes outside a pub). We would expect to arrive at
Burkes Pass round 1pm to off load gear and then depending on the weather
decide where we ride to. If the weather is good there will be a longer ride
to Mount Cook and back which Robert said is 90 minutes each way, but if
members would prefer a shorter ride then I suppose Tekapo or thereabouts
will be the place. Robert has 10acres of land so there is plenty of room to hitch your tents.
The club will be taking the Hangis and cooking food, we will also be running
a bar at reasonable prices. If anyone prefers anything other than beer then
please make your own arrangements or bring it to Birch street or my place
before the Saturday and I will transport it for you. The club Marquee will
also be taken so if the weather is a crap we can all shelter under that.
Robert also advises me that he has barns etc on his property if it were wet.
Maybe a hay bale bed might not be out of the question?.
