Hi Guys.

My name is Blair Corkran and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. While I have a membership number for RAT and received the odd magazine there is little interest that I can see in Christchurch for a local RAT Chapter so lets hope this NZ RAT forum can spark some life into our local Chapters.
I have been a member of the NZ TOMCC (Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club) for the last five years and the area coordinator for the Canterbury region for the last four. I also do the newsletters and web for our Chapter. I started out with a shop room floor 78 T140V Bonneville and have had a 03 T100 Bonneville, 07 Tiger, 07 Sprint and have also ordered a Speedmaster which will arrive in the next few Months. I still love the old retro style Triumph but being a candy arse also like comfort during a ride which the Tiger supplies in spades.

Lets hope this forum will progress and things are kept positive so I won't need to moderate things to much :-D

Welcome aboard Corky, hopefully this section generates a lot of local interest!

Also good luck to Emirates Team New Zealand in the America's Cup! . Even though I am American I always root for TNZ. I don't think any other nation on earth cares for and is as good at sailing as yours.

HI Corky,
great to see you here. I just found this I am an expat Kiwi, been here since I was 23 except I went back for a couple of years '02 to '04 (long story there).

I am originally a Jaffa.

Good luck here nice to see another Kiwi and there's nothin wrong with that flag..................

Rob has a very wicked sense of humour :-D

He is a top bloke and a good rider. He's not far from me here and we occassionally catch up.

cheers,
DaveM

Hi DaveM

Pleased to have read your email. The NZ TOMCC club is thinking about coming to Aussie in 08 but starting out in Melbourne and and watching the GP series at Phillips Island then going inland and doing the loop to Adelaide then back round the coast to Melbourne. They are talking about taking their own bikes but I would have thought it would be cheaper and easier to hire them while in Auz. The ride would be a two weeker.

Hi Corky,
I am inclined to think you are right that it would be cheaper to hire a bike.

But there's niothing like your own machine.

DaveM

Hi guys, I'm based up in the Waikato. Getting around on a 95 Daytona 900, and an 06 Scrambler.
I've been to a couple of TOMCC get togethers up here, but to be honest, it seems a bit quiet.
I'm mainly spending time with the Kiwi Biker Forum crew, but hope to see TOMCC pick up a bit. Went on the coast to coast run for the Raglan surf club, and Ray and the crew are keen to host a good 08 shin dig.
Cheers.
