Other Motorcycle: I wish!
I was there a couple of years ago, but did not ride and did not have any wish to, especially on a weekend when all the Saudis come over to get drunk.

Crossing the roads was an experience in itself.

Exactly, anywhere around Manama is typical crazy overcrowded middle east driving. The rest of the island is a desert with decent roads, not the best I've seen in the ME, but surely not the worst.

It's not just that the Saudi's go there and become terrible drivers when they get drunk. They're terrible drivers anyway. I spent 5 yrs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and saw so many stupid drivers and accidents that I wouldn't even consider riding a bike there.

I was in 5 serious auto accidents in 5 years. None were my fault, but in Saudi when there's an accident everybody goes to jail until they figure out who was at fault. It was just a good thing that the Provost Marshall was my tennis partner. I used my one phone call to contact him and he always managed to get me out.
