If you can post the Country you are from, Branch of Service and your Base location in the Title Box and then a small blurb about your self. Thanks Lee

USA, United States Air Force, McGuire AFB New Jersey

I am no longer in the service I did this just to see how this works. I think if we all follow suit it will be better for us to contact one another and we can file through to see if someone is stationed near us. Thanks again Lee

USA, Marines, Camp Pendleton, CA

Great idea for a forum, I am currently 3 1/2 yrs removed from active duty. However, I still live mere miles from where I was stationed; Camp Pendleton, CA. I was in the Marines for 4 yrs...one tour in Iraq (Ramadi-2004) and 2 tours in Okinawa Japan. Looking forward to meeting fellow veterans on the forum!

US Air Force...15 years active duty so far.
Career field: petroleum oil and lubricants (POL)
Assignments:

Yokota AB, Japan - 3 tours
Osan AB, South Korea
Kunsan AB, South Korea
Fairchild AFB, WA - just 12 months
RAF Lakenheath, UK - leaving soon
Misawa AB, Japan

Too many deployments and TDYs (temporary duty assignments) to list and probably will list them out after my service to country is done. Better to be safe but I feel I have been lucky to be able to see as much of the world as I have.

POL slogans:

"if you can't truck it...F**K IT!"
"what the f**k...BIG GREEN TRUCK!"
"whooooooooooooooo-da-hell...POL!"
"Without fuel pilots are pedestrians"
"He who controls the fuel, controls the world!"

I am stoked this section has begun. I would also like to say a thank you to Lee and Saphena for taking the added responsibilities in moderating this section...thanks guys!

Sometimes the grind can get to you, especially with the ops tempo and the direction things are going in but it has been my honor to serve my country in the Air Force. Something I will be grateful for and will never regret it. A few more years and it will be time to take the uniform off though. Heading back to New York so I can go on a Hudson Valley pizza run with Lee :laughhard

BT when you get back we will tour the hudson valley for Pizza...also the great scenary in the hudson valley as well....Looking forward to it...

We need to give Saphena credit for this it was his idea ...I merely have the opportunity to assist with it.

Actually I sent a PM to Saphena, Wombat, and HiD asking them about this. To their credit and my appreciation, they jumped right on this and got it started. I think it was a matter of two days from the time I asked the question and this section appeared; thank you very much for this guys! I started thinking about this because Doodledog and I were able to meet up after finding out through some random thread that we are both career military and don't live that far from each other. It was a great meet and I feel fortunate to have that opportunity. I still owe you that rootbeer too Doodle and I will get it to you before I leave:D It just made me start thinking that this could possibly be a great network tool to have for the people serving. These kinds of things are great for someone like me who has been doing their entire time in service overseas and having this chance to meet up or talk with other Trumpeters is awesome. I am definitely the odd man out on base as I ride my British twin alongside a sea of Harleys :laughhard

So a big thanks to everyone that made this happen and to both Saphena and Lee for taking this portion of the forum under their wing. I will also try my best to get some Japanese RATS in here as well once my move is over. You would be surprised the following Triumph has over there. I think a lot of people make the assumption that there isn't much of a following because of the strong hold on the bike industry they have but there is a good sized following on the western bikes. There is the language barrier when it comes to membersip on the forum but who knows until you actuall start looking around...

BZ, folks. I appreciate the opportunity to talk to people with military experience and a love for Triumph's. I've worked with soldiers from a variety of countries, made many friends over the years, for lots of us motorcycling gives us the stress release we need.

Retired USAF was stationed in UT, still haven't left yet...

Great Idea. I wish I would have thought of it.
Retired USAF Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist (Weapons Troop).
"Without weapons, the AF would be just another Airline."
Served Nov. 1984 to June 2006.
Locations:
May 85 to Nov 87- Clark AB RP
Dec 87 to Dec 90- Fairchild AFB WA
Dec 90 to Jun 92- Kunsan AB ROK
Jun 92 to Mar 98- Moody AFB GA
Mar 98 to Jun 03- RAF Lakenheath UK
Jun 03 to Jun 06- Hill AFB UT
Jun 06 on- DoD Civilian Hill AFB.

As for B06T's comment about the sea of HDs on base, It's everywhere I've ever been stationed. It helps that they have there own dealer on most bases, and to be fair, they can get you a pretty good deal. If your so inclined, that is. Here at Hill, it's V-twins or Sport bikes, not much else. It's good to the odd one out.

we've shared some of the same areas Overkill; I noticed that after reading over your assignments. I also agree with you on the HD thing. There was some hesitation on my part when I got the Trumpet because in all fairness, HD really does a lot with the military. Every base overseas I have been to has a dealer and the deals they offer to military is pretty darn good...its not just icing to lure people in. Heck...they are set up in some spots downrange where you can do the deal tax free! I guess it only goes to show you how much we love the Trumpets!:D Its also the reason though I don't jump on the "bash HD" threads. Its a great bike...Triumphs are astounding though:D I think being from New York too affected my decision. I have noticed a lot of similarities being over here in the UK. How villages are set up, the twisties, etc. So I grew up seeing a lot of Triumphs and when I was kid, watching Evel Kneivel in amazement, it was the BonnieTT that hooked me in.

I've been in the AF for 10 years now. Triumph is in the blood; My father was stationed in England (RAF Upper Heyford) when I was born and used to sit me on his Trident to get me to stop crying. He now rides a 2001 Bonnie. My ride is a 2008 Pacific Blue and Aluminum Speedmaster with sissy bar, small saddle bags, and fly windscreen. I'm currently looking at adding crash bars, highway pegs and a center stand. When I ride with friends, my bike always seems to be the one that attracts a crowd. :D

Currently at Vandenberg AFB, CA and loving it here. No better place in the states to be stationed and riding.

Just bought a 2006 Triumph Tiger from a CG Lt Cmdr in LA Cali. I'll be flying out and riding it back home in late April, about 1300 miles or so. It'll be a great way to get back to being a "person" again.

I've been a member of the Guard since 2002. I've served short tours in Qatar and Iraq as an F-16 crew chief, spent a year active duty as a member of Security Forces and have been active duty as a crew chief for the past two years. Hopefully no one is offended by a statie hanging around here.

great site! The SoCal crowd needs to have a rally here soon.

Sure hope you get out to ride some of those roads in Kern County. I installed a bunch of equipment for the Navy years ago in China Lake and being originally from 29 Palms, Kern County was like a dream ( well, at least it had a river!!)

Thank you for your service.

USN, VAW-123 onboard NAS Norfolk, Virginia, CWO3

I'm a 25 year active duty Navy Chief Warrant Officer 3. I've served in the following squadrons: VF-74, VF-101, VF-32, VC-6, VF-213, HC-2, VFA-31, VAW-123. I've made 7 deployments including 4 combat tours. One in Desert Storm onboard the USS Saratoga, one in Operation Iraqi Freedom onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, two in Operation Enduring Freedom onboard the USS Carl Vinson and the USS Theodore Roosevelt. I've got 5 more years to go and then I'm passing the torch. This is a young mans game and I will let them play. Spent 18 years working on the venerable F-14 Tomcat. I'm one of those old fellas they used to call AQ's. Aviation Fire Control Technicians that worked on Fire Control Radars, weapons release and guidance systems. Then they forced us to convert to Aviation Electronics Technicians.

I ride a 2004 Triumph Bonneville America and like the other guys here I am amongst a sea of HD on base. Just didn't want to fit in with the rest of the crowd.

I was on the Saratoga with you in the Gulf war. Desert Shield, Desert Storm. Long retired and ride a 2008 T100 Bonneville. I have owned 172 bikes, and the Bonneville is my favorite.
