Hey new Thunderbird owner here, anyone interested in riding on Sunday the 23rd???

I am, when I'm not watching my oldest son's high school baseball team play the next 2 months that is. They usually don't play on the weekends and never on Sunday so if its dry, I'm hoping to fly on the weekends.

I was just going to ask if anyone is planning on the Slimy Crud in May. If its going to be dry, I'm planning on it. MIL lives in Sun Prairie so I'm going to ride over there Fri or Sat and do the SCR on Sunday before rising back to Racine mid to later afternoon. Probably taking the southern route on Hwy 12 home through Cambridge, Ft Atkinson, Whitewater, East Troy and Waterford.

No rain yet today (and from looking at the National Weather Service radar, nothing's even close to us), so I'm taking the Thruxton out for another nice backroads jaunt (it's great to only have to go 1 1/2 miles west down the road I live on, to get to Waukesha County, and some nice, hilly, winding roads :) ). I hope some of you Milwaukee region riders are able to get the Trumpets out for a spin today. Have fun in the fresh air, and show John and Jane Q Public, that there is more to Milwaukee area motorcycling, than just Harleys.

Hmmm, I've read quite a bit about it, and it sounds like fun. I used to ride some of the roads used for it back in the 80s, when I went to school at UW-Madison. They were a lot of fun (especially west of Madison). I'd have to see what my schedule looks like. Besides, isn't it kind of by invitation from Mr. Egan & Co.?

That's cool to hear about the Slimey Crud run. It might be fun to do.

The Frozen Snot run would be great to do on a day like today (it's 70 glorious degrees outside! - I'm debating hooking up the battery on my Thruxton after work, and going for a spin), especially since it's local for me (I live in Greenfield), but Saturday weather is kind of lousy (50 degrees, with a chance of rain :frown2:). Oh well.

We'll have to ride sometime. I have offices in downtown Racine and in Oak Creek on Howell. Cruised west on 4 mile to 38 and down to Northwestern and into town to the Racine office. Going out for a few miles and lunch tomorrow. Prob on the Bonnie SE tomorrow. Rode the Speedmaster tonight with my wife along to a high school sports meeting. Gonna try to max the 2 wheel miles this season and ride a cycle any time it's reasonable to do so.

Sure, it's always fun riding with other people. I work down here in the Racine area (the old Danfoss facility on Hwy 20, that's now Badger Meter), and I live up in the west end of Greenfield (all I need to do, is go a couple of miles down Beloit Rd., and I'm in Waukesha County, and some great riding roads).

I got in a bit over 1500 miles last year. The most memorable ride? - the 4th of July, starting on the back roads near me. I lost my bearings, and ended up waaaay south of Wind Lake, on some country roads I'd never been on. I thought I was going north, and finally realized that I was going south! In another 20 minutes worth of riding, and I would have wound up somewhere in Illinois! :smile2: I'm hoping to get in more mileage this year.

Too funny, my wife used to work for Danfoss, started in the facility on DeKovan and moved out to that facility when it opened. She worked in HR back then but stopped working when we had our first son in 1998. He's not riding on 2 wheels!

I grew up in Whitewater and love the ride from Racine to WW via Mukwonago, the roads to the west of Muktown are great to cruise on.

Back on topic, the weather is looking like it might be a bit better on Saturday for the Frozen Snot, at least in the morning on Sat....... https://www.facebook.com/3481277019...8127701964930/895462777231417/?type=3&theater

I used to belong to a Honda VTX riding group, still kind of do, they have all brands ride with them, all good people, no BS no bike club type stuff, just good times. Anyway we do two trips a year to the Dells, we go there on a friday come homeon sunday. Normally stay at a cheesy motel, and walk the bars at night or just hang out outside the motel. saturday ride normally happens. We do the is the end of every May and end of every september, we are looking at the weekend of the 17th at this point. all details are not complete yet for ride. My wife and a friends wife are working on final details now. I will post it when its ready for anyone who may be interested. all bikes and all walks of life welcome.
