Best routes in Alberta, BC, Sask, Man, On...
Everyone in Calgary is familiar with 22x to Bragg Creek, and 66 into Kananaskis, and 22 south to Millarville.
Felixleiter recommended highway 11 west of Red Deer.
I also like the Highwood pass in Kananskis country.

I like hwy 40 thru Kananaskis, there is a little gas station right were hwy 40 turns into hwy 541 (which turns east and comes out on hwy 22 near Longview). If instead of following the highway you turn at that gas station you can continue south for 111km and it lets you out on hwy 3 (Crowsnest Pass) at Coleman.
Do not take this road unless you have a Tiger:

I agree with Felix. Hwy 40 through Kananaskis is a great run. If you go that way, stop into Ian Tyson's Navajo Mug in Longview for a cup of coffee.
From Millarville, the 549 then the 762 to Bragg Creek is popular and scenic road. Much better than taking the 22 all the way. Watch for the coppers though.
The 22 north of Calgary to Sundre is beautiful farm country with a view of the mountains. About an hour each way.
A bit further out from Calgary, the 95 from Radium to Golden along the Columbia River is a good ride.
Peter, 22x runs easy to west just south of Calgary. 22 is the scenic route from Ft Mcleod north to Calgary. If you're taking the 2 up to Calgary, remember not to be so stunned, it's the 2A to Jack's place.

60km of twisties
in beautiful countryside.
Make your way to the staggered junction between 22x, and the turn offs to Millarville and Bragg Creek. Keep going west into the provincial park system and the road becomes hwy 66. Soon it is a lightly travelled (during the week) road passing various campgrounds, ponds and tourist viewpoints. Go all the way to Forget-me-not Pond and you've got fast and windy roads for 60km round-trip from the junction. Watch out for cows.

Watch out for Google maps, that I how I ended up on the grand trunk forestry road between hwy 40 and hwy 3 (above pics) for 111km--google maps doesn't differentiate between gravel and paved roads.

Mine is not really in Canada, living 2mins from the border. mine fav route is the Mt Baker parkway in Washington state.
The first 40 k's is country backroads followed by 200 twistys gaining 3000 ft in elev.
