I got Michelin Pilot Road 2 (the 2 compound tires) for $442 (plus tax) for the set (the rear is a 190 so it is more $). This was $200 less than Parts Canada's sticker price.
$120 for install on the rear? Have you ever had your rear wheel off? It is f'n simple. One nut and the wheel comes off the rhs. The brake disc, sprocket, everything stays on the swingarm.
I paid $90 last year to have a front installed at Echo--the front is a bit more complicated, have to remove the brake calipers, undo the pinch bolts, and unthread the axle, deal with the spacer and the speedo gear--then grease it upon re-assembly*
*I called Echo yesterday asking about what grease to use on the front axle. Service told me it comes from canadian tire and is in what looks like a mayonaise jar...I know that axle grease is kinda important and should be really sticky/stringy. So I called Cycle Works (near my work) and posed the same question. They sold me some proper Motul grease in a jar for $11.
Anyway, the front is way harder than the rear...Echo must have charged you extra to make up some of their margin on the tire you bought elsewhere.
$30 install: if you remove your own wheels AB Cycle will only charge $30/tire to install and balance and fill with nitrogen. They will also do this in the same day. Triple M Motorsports charges the same amount (they are located on 51ave across from Totem Lumber) and will do so for tires you bring in--not sure if AB Cycle will do the $30 install for tires they don't supply.
To remove your wheels you will need some odd sized sockets (provided the Sprint is the same as my S3):
--46mm socket (I have one you can borrow, along with a 2' breaker bar but it only cost $10 at Princess Auto)
--17mm hex socket (again, I have one. Just bought it at Greggs Dist. for $16)
--A centre stand helps; I think your sprint has one??? The S3 doesn't so I used a scissor jack bolted to a frame (for a larger/more stable footprint) underneath the swingarm link and secured it with straps from the footpegs out to this frame. I then slipped some straps over the front engine sliders and hung the front from an overhead crane (a beam in your garage would work, as would a front fork stand).
The cheapest place to get tires (that I have found) is High Performance Cycles in Florida

They buy tires by the truckload and sell them cheap--they don't always stock what you want though. They were going to sell me a set of Metzeler M3s for $270 installed! Untill I told them where I was. They will ship to Canada via USPS for $55/set, so it would have cost <$300 for those Metzelers to my door. I wanted a more touring oriented tire though, as I have +5000km of trips planned this summer and don't want to replace my rear multiple times. They also sell on ebay under the seller name hpc395, so you can use paypal.
