Blackfoot`s service department is a nightmare.

This shop comes highly recommended from a buddy who knows his bikes and apparently one of the owners rides a Bonnie.

congrats on the bike! A Thruxton was my second choice...after the S3.

I deal with Rick at Echo all the time. I can't fault his service. Same goes for Paul Dubbord (the owner). Great lot. They host a few triumph events a year, infact I think that there is a wine and cheese coming up in a week or two at Echo. Plus a track day in June. See ya around.

I don't know whether Echo or Triumph is to blame, but the parts situation is hopeless.

Aftermarket parts are easy to find on the net, but what about OEM parts (obviously for non-warranty issues)? Do you guys go anywhere other than Echo or Blackfoot for parts or service with your triumphs?

Its the fact that they have a couple of young kids who work there only for there staff discount on dirt bike parts. They are rude and have no clue as to what they are looking for. 3 months for them to get me the right fairing for my bike and they charged me for the heat fix on my Sprint which was a recall that they had checked off as done but when I pulled the fairings it wasnt done.

The service side is just as bad. They charged me 90 bucks plus tax to mount a tire. I bought a Tuneboy for my Sprint so I will never have to go there for actual real work.

Tire mounting is expensive everywhere--I paid $90 for a front tire mount there last year. I paid less for mounting at AB Cycle, but brought the wheel (rather than the whole bike) in. I am going to order one of those balancing rack things so I can mount my own tires... tires are so much cheaper from the US (even including shipping).

How does the tuneboy lower servicing costs? Infact, you'll likely need Echo's dyno to program the tuneboy for max hp. I think I am getting one next year--this year the wolf/trident exhaust.

Tuneboy does more then just tuning. It is also a full diagnostic tool. Codes, sensors etc. I wont have to go to Echo and have them hook up the gameboy to diagnose any problem.
