Sorry for the delay in the response but yes, I have been using wix on my bikes for about 10 years. I hyave never had an issue and the micron filtration rating is right up there with any of the best filters. Wix and Puro are generally known in the industry as the top line with Fram being the marketing special that it is, does not truly offer the filtration that the others do.

NAPA has three levels of Wix filters Gold, NASCAR and Silver. Gold is the best and what I buy. NASCAR is the Do it yourself market retail filter and is a good filter and silver is the wholesale filter.

By the way if any of you are looking for plugs for your 1050 engine you can get those at NAPA as well. Standard NGK CR9EK (order number 4548) or the Iridium CR9EIX (order number 3521) in stock or same day delivery at most NAPA's and about 10 bucks less per plug then the dealers.

Pure One filters

I ordered the long Purolator, 14610, from a local jobber, Peterborough Automotive in Ontario. They are a Best Buy Auto Parts dealer. Had to order a case, 12, around $12 each. Don't know if Best Buy is in Quebec though.

You got banditized, banditzed. In a case of 12 they should be under $10 each for sure.

Other Motorcycle: Chopped Triumph Bonnevill
I tried the WIX #51358. I noticed when I tightened the filter, it stopped turning rather suddenly. I added my new oil and noticed a drip down the side of the oil filter,....What the f***!!? I tried to tighten it more and got maybe 3/4 inch of a turn. Seemed OK until I started the engine!! #$@%$#**$# (Oil pouring out, I'm speaking in tongues creating a new blue language)

I got a clean tub and unscrewed the SOB of a filter off and dumped my new Mobil #1 into the tub. I then went to Blackfoot Motosports and got a Triumph filter for $17.00. The threaded portion on the WIX filter was flat, while the threaded area is concave on the Triumph filter. This difference made the rubber gasket not seal tight enough.

Has anyone else had a problem with filters that are supposed to be a replacement for brand name parts on their Bonnies?

I guess it could be the thread on the tube not continuing far enough?

Haggie95, what is the year of your bike? Maybe it is a model year? Maybe it is just my bike?

Thanks for the link BuzzardSkeet. I'll try a Pure One next time. It has been a while since I visited beautiful downtown Bowness.

I have never heard of that with a wix filter... in twelve years of selling them I have never had a problem. I am sorry to hear about that. It sounds like a manufacturing flaw...
