I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2008!
Winter is here, the bikes are stored but we are already busy planning the 2008 activities of the Ottawa RAT. Things are looking good and I’m really excited about the activities being planned.
MEMBERSHIP
As you all know, membership to the Ottawa RAT is free. In attempt to keep our membership list accurate, I will be sending all members and individual email with the data that I have for each one of you. Once you receive the email, please take the time to verify that the information is accurate and kindly respond. Remember that we are a volunteer organisation and your assistance in this matter is kindly appreciated.
You can also register with Triumph to receive the Official Triumph Magazine. If you already receive it, you already know that it is also free but you must renew your membership on a yearly basis.
Triumph has made it easier than ever with a dedicated online renewal service that takes less than two minutes to complete!

(Note that you will need to have your motorcycle 17-digit VIN number on hand to proceed).
Your email address is the key to unlock specific Triumph member benefits.
You could:

• Provide relevant feedback on your Triumph experiences direct to the factory
• Receive the latest news from Triumph and your preferred Triumph dealer
2008 OTTAWA RAT RIDES
Mark your calendars! The following dates have been set for the Official Ottawa RAT Rides in 2008:
• Sunday, May 25, 2008 Calabogie Raid
• Saturday, July 5, 2008 destination TBA
• Saturday, September 6, 2008 destination TBA
Note that in the event of rain, the ride will be postponed to the corresponding day of the following weekend.
OTHER TRIUMPH GATHERINGS:
As we did last year, we will again meet on Wednesday evenings throughout the spring, summer and fall. These meetings will happen a little less frequently than last year and the location of the gathering may vary from time to time. We will keep you informed about the dates and location when they are determined a little later this winter or early spring.
I am taking the opportunity to inform you of a few other Triumph events to keep in mind:
• The Bennington Vermont Triumph Bash, May 30th to June 1, 2008

• NiagaRAT Rally 2008, tentative date June 6 to 8th
• 2008 Indianapolis MotoGP, Sunday September 14th (MotoGP returns to the legendary race track). Although this is not a Triumph event, a few of our members have expressed an interest in the possibility of attending the race.
