No Greaser it hasn't.I called the New Grand Hotel, which has been the host/headquarters for the last 5 years, yesterday.Sandy, the manager, said that RAT has not informed them of a date, nor have they answered any e-mails regarding the Raid. She said it may not happen at all this year, which would be a shame. This was a real popular Raid and always well attended.Apparently no one is in charge of RAT North America at the present time.

Ouch that is really not good. I was looking forward to this since I bought a triumph this year and this was the first event I heard of. I hope it goes through.

Bugger This
I'm getting peeved at Triumph! We Support them, buy their bikes and they can't even get their poo together to schedule events? I'm stuck having to book my summer vacation at work and now I don't know when to book for the freaking Raid! If Triumph opts out of supporting it I say LETS DO IT ANYWAY.
I'm going to book the third week of July off and hopefully that'll cover it. July 14th to 18th. So if it's on the weekend of the 12th-13th or 19th 20th I'll be able to attend. I'll be booking the first week of September so I can go to Devil's Tower with my good freind from Washington, Will Bill at the same time tomorrow, They only let us book two weeks now from June 15th to September 15th.

Nelson Raid
Hell yes, if they can't come up with a date, then let's establish a "non-sanctioned" raid. I'm sure Danny at the Grand hotel would be for it.
It was all about the commaraderie and rides anyway, well at least a few beers also...
There are alot of packs whom would attend. The banquet is nice, but the nights prior to the banquet have been fine also.
Hey, where the heck is Matt when we need him????

Nelson RAID
Mike Gebler, the chair of Island RATS has been "encouraging" Triumph to respond to all of our queries. The news is good, Jim Callahan of Triumph NA has responded that they are meeting with the factory to discuss RAT support/schedule/profile this month. Hopefully we'll hear the definitive word in Feb.
New Grand Hotel is booked July 12-13 for some bonspiel or something (curling????) so we are NOW looking at July 18-19. Personally, I'm booking my holidays for the weekend of July 18-19 in the expectation of the Nelson RAID happening then. We believe Triumph will come through, but local RATs are planning for Plan B. Be patient!! :Something good will happen one way or another. Note the changed dates!! :

I got an e-mail from Mike of Island RAT that sounded pretty encouraging. If Triumph doesn't put on the Raid,Canadian RAT packs may get together and put it on themselves.Looks like thats the right week to take off Anvil. You should be covered for both weekends.Rich is right, the banquet is great, but getting together with old friends(and new)slamming a few beers, checking out the bikes etc. is where I get the most enjoyment.
