Triumph motorcycle rally in Niagara Falls
Good morning everyone:

I'm just putting this message out now because I'd like to have a lot of input on this one.

I just wanted to ask all of you if you'd like to have the NiagaRAT rally one more time next spring. I'd like to reserve the weekend of June 6-8, 2008. I'm hoping that way, it would be one of the first events of the year and that it would be on a weekend where our friends from P.A. could come up again!

I would like to have the same motel but I'd really like to sell it out this year, so there is no problems with anyone else being there. That way we could have some "parking lot entertainment" without any problems. The format would generally be the same as the last few years, with the only difference being on Saturday. On Saturday, for this year, I'd like to break the activities into four categories; first, a day ride on some of our best roads; second, a shopping day tour of some of the great shopping areas; third, a winery tour and lunch; and lastly a tour of some of the great tourist places,i.e. the Jet Boats, a walk down to the whirlpool, a walk down to the gorge, a guided tour of the battle of Lundy's Lane site, etc. You simply chose before hand what you'd like to do and we'll have local members guide you around. Saturday night would again be set aside for great food that will be catered. I promise the potatoes will be cooked through this year!!! Like I said, if we can get the whole motel sold out, I'd like to get some entertainment in the parking lot for an extra fun night.

Those are our general plans. Would you all please take the time to think about it and let me know if we can count on your commitment to come. On the other hand, if you'd like to see a rally in a different spot this summer, please speak up and we'd gladly help anyone who would like to host an event.

I'd like to thank in advance the dealers who have been so generous with giveaways in the last three years and can only hope they'll be on board to help out again this year.

The only other difference we'll be doing this year in having everyone pay up front. We've always just collected the money at the gate but it's been a huge financial gamble for Brent, Peggy and myself, especially when someone commits to come and for whatever reason, decide not to show up at the last minute.

I guess the bottom line is simple, we love doing this event for all of you and will gladly keep doing it as long as everyone wants to get together. This is about as "grass roots" as you can get but we love doing it.

So I'm going to leave it to all of you to let us know. Do you want to have the NiagaRAT rally again or do you want to meet somewhere else this summer? We've got lots of time to organize things but I'd like to reserve that weekend right now before someone else takes it. Let's hear from P.A., Michigan, New York, Indiana and of course, Ontario. Feel free to copy this message onto any other sites you might frequent. Get hold of your local members however you like, just get the message out that we need a lot of input on this one. This could easily be the best year yet!

I forgot to leave our local website address in the message for ongoing reports on the rally. If you're interested in coming, check out our site at www.ontariorats.com

It's always been a good time for a cheap price. Come to think of it, that sounds like me!

Hi,
I`m new to the RAT thing, having just bought an `03 Speed Triple. Though I`ve owned a `70 Daytona & `70 Bonnie in the past. Just sold my 2nd, `74 Norton, after 22yrs. ownership.

I`m not sure of what the RAT crowd is all about. I`m into all things motorcycle myself.

Tho` your plans for a rally sound nice enuff, I`m into something abit more bike oriented. That`s the weekend of the season opener at the Niagara Motorcycle Raceway (Sat. @ 7pm.).

Would be nice to see a RAT pack there. I`m sure if you contacted the Welland Co. MC in advance, they`d make you very welcome. Probably get a parade lap & everything.

I realize "track food" & beer at the clubhouse might be abit "low brow" for some of your participants, but it`s a great time. The racing is always exciting, & you`d be supporting another motorcycle event.

Further to my last post. The motel is once again filling up nicely and our plans are working out great. We mailed posters for the rally to dealers in Ontario, New York, Michigan and P.A. If you happen to see the poster at your local Triumph dealer, drop us a note at www.ontariorats.com and let us know you've seen it. Also, tell your friends about it and make plans to come join us in beautiful Niagara Falls, Ontario for the biggest Triumph rally in Canada!

Two years ago at the rally, I took a bunch of guys to the races for the night and they had a ball. I agree that it's a ton of fun for a little bit of money. I'll be taking a bunch out there again this year, as there seems to be a lot of interest in it again.

Some of us local riders take in the races on a regular basis each season. I think the Welland County Motorcycle Club do a great job putting on the races. They have been around forever and set the standard of what a good motorcycle club can do!!

Day option for newbie
New to Triumph and the RAT happenings, and want to know if I can make a day trip to join the festivities and check it out. I have younger kids and a full weekend away just doesn't work right now. I am willing to chip in for costs.
Thanks, McG63

You are absolutely welcome to come in for a day ride! If you don't want a shirt or don't want to stay for supper, then there won't be a charge for you at all. If you do want to a shirt and want to stay for supper, then go to www.ontariorats.com and contact me with your shirt size. It would be great if you could stick around for Saturday because you're really not that far from us and could be home Saturday night, no problem at all.

Just drop me a line and let me know what you want to do. We're going to have a ton of people coming out this year and it would be great if you could meet everyone.
