Thanks for the picture Hyperview... that was exactly what I was thinking of in term of "Ton Up"... the Ace Cafe site. I haven't been there for a year or so (the site, not the actual cafe).

Linky to Ace Cafe

Ton Up club of N.A. (ace of spades) est 1998:

Ace Cafe club (ace of clubs) est. 1939:

Since this is Canada and since 100mph is no longer too much of a milestone (I could do that on my 1991 Ninja 500 back when I weighed 225lbs) maybe we should go the route of:
2 Ton Up Club...metric ehhh (not to be confused with the 2-Up Ton club). Bahhh, this is just getting too much.

"Requirements for membership:
1. Must believe in the club philosophy
2. Must have a motorcycle that either is a café racer, is built in the spirit of a café racer or is at least ridden with that attitude.

Rules:
1. No “Cruiser” motorcycles allowed. Period. No exceptions. If you want to be in our club then get a cool bike.
2. No modern sport bikes. A Ducati Monster is cool, but not a Ducati 996. A Honda CB400/4 will work, but not a Kawasaki Ninja. Get it?
3. There are no real officers in the club. All events are put on by members of the club as a group. We don’t want to start having meetings about meetings.

Important:
The name “Ton Up Club” and any version of that name, the spade logo and any version of that logo and any content of the charter Ton Up Club web sites are the sole property of the club founders and can not be used without permission of said founders or their representatives.

We just want to keep it about cool bikes, cool beers and having a good time without any wankers."

You're a prime example of why real bike owners have issues with cruiser riders.

Wow. If I may mitigate it sounds as though Speedboy was drawing parallels between this club's charter (which bans cruisers) and the "typical" cruiser rider who Starbucks it (a rose by any other name...). Why are you offended Greaser? On a TBS you are excluded from Ton Up anyhow.

I think I read it like you Felix.I know Speedboy and he's a good guy.Not a "typical" cruiser rider.Greaser's Norton wouldn't exclude him fron a Ton Up club, tho.

Yeah, Speedboy used to ride an S3 (met him at Nelson). Hey Greaser, were you at the Nelson Raid with the Norton that started on 1 kick?

No I had my creamsicle TBS. I came up with Gordo on his 73 Harley SX350 single (its cool, it's Italian ya know.... The Norton you refer to was Evil Norton Neals of the Vancouver Ton Up chapter. Helluva nice bike.

My Norton isn't running .......yet. Got the primary together last week, just gotta plumb the thing now.

Ton up club sounds like good stuff, lots of history in that name.

I'll stay tuned.
