US Vendors not selling to Canada
US Vendors not selling to Canada customers seems to be a growing trend. We are not a third world country you wankers.. Between Vendors having only getting American rights for products, payment by Paypal accounts only from US, Credit cards payments only from US accounts and painful shipping costs and processes it seems the e shopping thing is getting worse. Actually much worse, you can find your parts, shop for best price but NO, can't buy you silly Canuck.
Anybody else seeing this .... ?
Two examples .. Jets R Us , Bella Corse " BellaCorse.com is North America's premier on-line source for the largest and most diverse selection of high performance and restyling parts & accessories specifically for the new Triumph Bonneville. "

It's unfortunate...
They probably have enough sales to be happy and don't want the hassle of international shipping. It's a silly move, but I can understand it.
There are plenty of other places to buy **** online, and if it's that much of an issue, get a mail forwarding service.

That requires more hassle on mail or delay from UPS or Fed Ex deliveries. And doesnt solve the payment issue of not taking non USA credit cards or non USA Paypal. Worst part is that a lot of this isnt know until you finally get to Check out Payment.
Generally very frustrating........ Okay Canada where are the vendors ?
As usual for Canada , the local distributors are a Non Internet location in Manitoba and a small general dealership in Que . All dont mention any Keihn carb support.

I've noticed this too. However, my three recent purchases from the US were direct from manufacturers - Race Tech, Ricor and Biltwell. All three were perfectly happy to ship to Canada and used USPS, so no getting raped by shipping companies (UPS, FedEx) for "Brokerage Fees", etc. I was lucky and did not get charged HST either. In each case, I received the parts within a week.
I also, placed an order with TTP in the UK and again, the order was shipped via the postal service, was received within a week and no duties/taxes charged.
In the future, if I can't source the part in Canada, and US sources have a problem shipping North, I will definitely be looking at UK suppliers as an alternative.

I sell to Canada with my biz. Let me tell ya about the pitfalls. UPS/Fedex charge FAR too much for something going over a border 100 miles north of me. USPS cannot guarantee nor confirm delivery, so any customer can say "Never got it" to the CC company and get a refund. I have been boned a few times with international orders. NOW...I have been asking some of my customers to do a "Call-Tag" with UPS/Fedex using a local account for them to pick up their order, this has solved MANY MANY MANY issues and I prefer doing it this way when possible. Anyway.. my two cents on the issue!

I was able to track all my orders that were sent to me via USPS and I had to sign for receipt, so I'm surprised when you say they can't confirm delivery when they have it on-line. I avoid UPS and FedEx like the plague - shipping charges are high and the brokerage fees they charge are outrageous, plus sales taxes will definitely be charged - can easily double the cost of the item.

Once an item hits the boarder (US to Canada) USPS no longer tracks the item. I believe once it clears customs Canada Post becomes responsible for it. Tracking, insurance and delivery confirmation are all available.
I prefer to use UPS/FedEX/Puralator shipping stuff with in Canada. Often it is as cheap if not cheaper than Canada Post and way faster. And on top of that my mail man seems to be pretty inconsistent. If I'm getting items from the US the only way I want it shipped is USPS/Canada Post.

If you think getting motorcycle part across the border is a hassle... You certainly don't want to pick up sport shooting as a hobby
The ATF and US State Dept. probably have a 2" thick folder with my name on it... from all the paperwork I had to send them over the years...
-
On a less-ranty note, if you could plan your purchase with your next trip south of the border... and have the parts shipped to either a UPS store (or any other forwarder that will hold/receive) parcel for you.
-
Or you could bug your local dealer...
-
Or you could do like we do for shooting accessories, and source them from Europe...

Mike,
I am a shoot accessory manufacturer, lemme tell ya about hassles! (oh wait, you have the same file at the border!).
Customs seems to have a field day with my packages, one would think I am shipping black market weapons instead of holsters, slings and belts!

I purchase from US retailers all the time. Most will ship to me using USPS, so that's good, the ones that don't, I have them ship to a mail drop just south of the border and either go get it or have them reship via USPS. Motorcycle Superstore, Rocky ATV, Twisted Throttle, California Sport Tour, etc... and anything north of Parksville is the Third World!
