Will US dealer do warranty on Cdn bike?

I plan to buy my bike in Canada, but the nearest dealer is in the US. Does anyone know if US dealers can do warranty work on a Canadian bike? Thanks!

Warranty valid

I found my answer on another website...Triumph operates with a global warranty, honoured in both countries.

The bike I ride originated in the US (both Miles & KMs on the gauge). Got some Triumph OEM service work done at Blackfoot Motorsports in Calgary at no charge.

Establish good rapport with a reputable Triumph dealer in your area, and you'll reap the benefits.
I always ask the service manager or person in-charge to confirm that they are willing and able to do warranty work. I've read in one of the forums here that some dealers refuse to do warranty work on bikes bought elsewhere. I personally never experienced this problem before.

Good Luck!

So if I understand I can buy a Triumph in the states and with no issues....I thought the bike had to be 15 years or older ????
What did the dealership do to make it OEM?

Yes you most certainly can import a new or recent model motorcycle from the US. You will have to make sure it is on a list or admissable bikes (all Triumphs are) and do a few other things as well. Google the subject and you will find several pages detailing the process. My problem was the reverse. I wanted to buy the bike in Cda, but service it in the US because the nearest delaer is in the US. At the present time it is (very slightly) cheaper to buy in Cda after you put in exchange, duties and fees involved with importation. Add in the hassle factor and it is not worth it. Triumph Cdn/US pricing is fairly well aligned right now.

Donsebasto,

Here's a link to the Gov. of Canada website addressing your vehicle import questions.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the info......

The reason I am asking is that I will in the future purchase a Thruxton, and I don't find a lot of Thruxton here in Canada but find more in the US.

Another point I want to know is should the bike be in the original condition that in came out of the factory? Meaning FEK, exhaust, air box removal kit.....

What papers from the seller do I need? Are transaction o nthe states different in the US?
