Best Triumph service centre in Sydney?

Hi there people,

I am very pleased to say that i have just purchased my first Triumph - a 2008 Daytona 675 SE which is arriving on the 10th April... 2 weeks... i can hardly contain myself!

I currently live in Manly - Sydney and was hoping you guys might suggest the best workshop around town for my new bike. Someone suggested Procycles at Hornsby.. would others agree with this or is there another you would recommed?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't found any I could hand-on-heart recommend, I only use the dealership for warranty work nowadays. Most dealerships are the same no matter what marque you ride. If you have to go to a dealership try Northside motorcycles at Artarmon, been a few years since I went there but I found their work thorough albeit expensive. My advice would be to find a mechanic who is dedicated and goes the extra mile, you usually find them in non-dealership shops where their business depends on their reputation. Good luck there and enjoy your Triumph!

Well, first up, I wish you much joy of the Daytona.

Where are you getting it from?

About 6 weeks ago now, I collected my new Street Triple from Procycles.

I did take it back to them for its first service and also the rear shock replacement recall thing.

However, unless there is a warranty issue, I don't intend taking it back to them again.

There wasn't a specific service issue, but dealing with Procycles was a less than pleasant experience.

As mick said, you might like to give Northside a try.

I have found (as Mick suggested) my own folk to service my bikes, but they are in Granville, which may, or may not suit you.

PM me if you want details.

If you don't mind bit of a ride i have heard that S&R Pro @ Penrith are very good. I haven't used them but was told this on the Ratbag site when i posted about servicing my Tona. I got my last service @ the Trumpy place @ blacktown, probably wouldn't go back!

stay well clear of triumph blacktown IMO

procycles at st peters are good but expensive, and triumph at camden is just a lawn mower shop that does triumphs as a sideshow, not bad just not great either.

Either way enjoy your bike!

Sydney mechanic

There is an awesome motorcycle mechanic in Sydney - hopefully not too out of the way from Manly: Lloyd Penn Motorcycles. 34 Punch Street, Artarmon, NSW 2064. p: (02) 9906 8488. Always done good work and been completely trustworthy (seemingly quite unusual in his line of business in Sydney). Please google the name to see what other people think of his work. I'm wondering if I can get him to do the servicing and still be covered by Triumph's warrantee?
