Triumph Mechanic In Adelaide

G'Day,
Just wondering if any Adelaide riders can recommend a good mechanic who knows about Hinckley Twins. I have been trying to get my bike in for a service and some other issues sorted, and getting a booking at Peter Stevens is just about impossible unless you are willing to wait for at least a month. I don't have issues with their work, just having to wait so long is killing me.

Cheers,

Cruser

Other Motorcycle: one is enough but I'd love a thruxton just to use for cafe racing.
Extra Motorcycle: nah
mechanic

i know a good one who lives at Oaklands Park He works on my t100 and does a great job. His name is Paul illingworth phone; 82989610

There is also one of our Triumph Club members who moved to Adelaide late last year from the UK. He's not a professional mechanic but he knows triumph twins inside out. i know he does work for some people. I can ask him if you like. (he lives in Hillcrest...hope you dont mind Phil)

Thumbs up

Thanks for that Hans, I'll contact him when I return from NSW in a couple of weeks.

hi

no worries mate.
Taking nothing away from Peter Stevens, of wom I have no complaints, I feel it is always MUCH better to have your own "personal' mechanic. Someone who gets to know your bike quite well and someone with whom you can discuss any problems or needs regarding your bike on a face-to-face basis. This is one problem facing large, professional mechanical service provders like PS (let alone getting a booking within a reasonable time)

PS
I'm not sure if you have already, but feel free to come on any Triumph Riders Club rides with us. there are some very knowledgable members amongst us as regards to mechanics etc. (The rest of us are just ratbags having a GREAT time!)

G'Day Hans,
I have no issues with PS either, but having to book in for work 6 to 8 weeks in advance (can' get in until mid April) is just not acceptable.
I'll check out the link, and look at getting onboard for a ride.

Very Happy

How'dy folks,

Been searching in the threads to work out what mods I want to do with my Speedmaster....Snorkle this and AI that and dont forget ya Jugs

Then found this thread, called Paul and the clouds parted (well slightly). Sounds like a top bloke and knows his stuff (plus he is only down the road)...shall gladly fork over some dollars for his technical expertise. Hopefully get my bike modded and learn something in the process.

Thanks.
