Melbourne Triumph Mechanic

Hello,

Anyone able to recommend a Triumph mechanic? Location for me is outer eastern (ferntree gully) or city (whilst at work).

I don't know if Peter Stevens is the way to go?

Cheers

When I first brought my 06 Speedmaster it was badly set up, the thoatle had about 1/2 inch of play in it,
it had a real clunky first and second gears, the wrong jets for the aftermarket pips I had, it sucked juice like mad.
A friend of mine speedtripal Nick put me on to asian Charlie at Turn-one motorcycles in 32 Stubbs Street Kensington, just a few doors down from Triumph Australia head office.
Charlies a x peter steven trianed triumph guroo that went his own way and set up his own work shop and funny guy.

I took my bike there for the second service 10,000km, I got back a completly different feeling bike, he just sorted that pig rite out, more low end power, pulled so much better, he rebleed the brakes it stops twice as good with less effort, fixed the w@#$ing thoatle as he called it, put new jets in, riped out the A1
pollution stuff, ajusted the clutch cable top and botton, rejusted the gear shifting arm, stops the clunky gear changes, tuned and oil/filter change, ajusted the chain for $480

Hes really good with tuning triples Iv been told all my mates with triumph3 and rockets go to Charlies.
Hes also covered by triumph warrant his ph is 03 9372 1299

Charlie also does tyers, It pays to ring him first he dosn't carry a big line but he can order it in for you.

Cheers Bugger

I agree with Bugger.
I have known Charlie since 1994, have had all my Triumphs tuned and serviced by him and cannot recommend anyone higher.
Charlie has exceptional knowledge of the T300 series triples and all later Triumph models. As a matter of interest he was a geniune Honda factory superbike mechanic prior to commencing at Peter Stevens years ago.
He has the ability to transform a good bike to a great bike with one of his special 'Charlie setups'.
Do yourself a favour and dont wast time or money anywhere else.

I know this thread is a few months old but on the off chance anyone picks up on it again, I agree totally. Hopefully by now ivincent you have taken your machine to Charlie and he has spun his magic. I first met Charlie about 1998 when I bought my first Triumph (Sprint exec) then a Trophy 9. He was at Peter Stevens at the time then moved to Kensington. All his clients went with him. Sold the Trophy and got a BMW for 5 yrs but just bought a new America and on the way back from Bendigo where I picked it up I dropped in on Charlie. First time in over 5 yrs and he almost fell over. Went straight to work on the America and results speak for themselves. (I've got a feeling I know you Ozbernie) Nice to be back in the fold.

Was out Kensington way on the weekend and popped in to see Charlie and today I sent him a parts list. So hopefully my S3 will be back on the road shortly.
