Angry Warning to Queenslanders

Guys,

New speed cameras are to be fitted across SEQ roads.

Revenue raisers or life savers??

Cant say I've seen too many accidents on the Storey Bridge !

Woo Hoo!

Roll on more fixed speed cameras! I love em! I`m totally in favour of reducing police presence and increasing fixed cameras, just like in Europe. I`m a serial speeder, always have been and I have always held the view that drivers who don`t have the awareness to spot a 1 metre square box on top of a 3 metre high pole at the side of the road are a liability who shouldn`t even be ON the road, let alone breaking the speed limit. Go Gatso!

Fixed cameras

Hi Rob,

I agree with the use of fixed cameras at known accident black spots. This seems to have worked in Europe and isnt used as a revenue raising activity.

The way the mobile radars are used in Oz is both sneaky (hiding behind trees and other obstructions) and blatent ( bottom of hills, changes in speed limits etc). Have seen speed cops hidden behind trees at 2 in the morning with nothing else on the road. This has nothing to do with road safety and everything to do with funding.

Hopefully this might take a few of the mobile cameras off the road.

Enjoy the speeding.

+1 on the mobile radars I`m dead against them, too hard to spot. Less mobile radars are part of my 'increased fixed cameras, reduced police presence' philosophy.
