Unhappy Adventure no more

Last wednsday on my way to phillip island,I slid out on some gravel that had been sprayed across the road by someone takeing of from the side of the road.I was commited to the line I was taking in the corner and there was no way to avoid hitting the gravel on the road at approx 60K.The front wheel slid out and down we went. The outcome was,the bike was completly destroyed as it ended up spining from side to side and then end to end as told to me buy the riders behind me.Myself well I busted my arm and got a friction burn on my knee.I had all the right gear on Dragin jeans, good boots,Dryrider jacket, gloves I am shore the outcome for me would have been a lot worse had I not been wearing proper gear.I have been home 2 days now and have not been able to go back into my garage as yet,if I need something from the garage I have to send my wife as it is now just a big emty space.H ardest decision now is what new bike.?

Mate I'm so sorry to hear your story.

Rough as guts especially when you can't just order a new one even if you did have the bucks!

Doubt, I'm making this any better.

It's probably no consolation but I saw a real nice white and tangerine T100 (trust me, looks good) the other day so at least there are options in the Triumph stable.

Bets of luck and heal quick!

Re - Adventure no more

Glad to hear you are OK, but with all due respect, I've seen the results of draggin' jeans in an accident and I'm sure I won't be wearing them.

Bikes can be fixed or replaced, riders need all the best protection available.

Draggin jeans

G,day Slasher. I dont know what results you have seen after a acident with someone wearing draggin jeans, but the result for me was very good as the outer layer of denim had a 100mm tear right on the kneecap, but the kevlar lineing was still intact, instead of a knee full of gravel I only ended up with a friction burn. leather would be the best but I would feel confident wearing these jeans again. New bike, anyone ride a Tiger? Aussie

Unhappy Heal well and prosper!

Seriuosly Aussie, that was rotten luck and I hope you get the bike you want soon, if not another Adventurer.

I ride an 06 Sprint 1050 and I'm very happy with it, but I am peeved that Triumph choose to fit the Tiger with higher spec forks and radial calipers. If the Tiger was not quite so sit up and beg I am sure it would be a bike for me. Perhaps that's the one you should aim for? Test ride the 955 and 1050 Sprints too.

cheers,

Dave

Tiger GGGGG

G,day smoothlennie, thanks mate I am healing well, now I am exited about buying a new bike, the specs on the new 1050 Tiger look good ,plenty of power and good suspension and brakes.I would definatly go for the ABS brakes.Icome from the old school and the upright seating position suits me.Iam going to find it hard to wait the 2 weeks until the Sydney bike show.Aussie.

Hi Aussie,
In reference to my lack of confidence in Draggin' Jeans, I watched a guy on a duke come daown in front of me at Wisemans Ferry and the jeans ripped. He was opened up from the top of his shin to the upper thigh very deeply.

On another note, I pick up my '07 Sprint today & after test riding both I was very impressed with the Tiger as well. In the end it came down to the fact that the Sprint offers a lot more protection from the elements. I do a lot of long distance riding and the Sprint just felt more comefortable.
