Triumph parts availability in Australia
Interested on what you guys think about the availability of Triumph parts in Australia. Here in NZ their inventory of parts they hold in stock is laughable. Simple things like headlights, tail lights, footpegs, gear shifters and brakes levers etc aren't available In NZ to cover the most basic of accidents. Everything seems to be Oh sorry we will need to get that in from the UK and that will be two weeks your bike is off the road. Worse still is when you wait two weeks and they send the wrong damn part even when you have given them the VIN number of your bike. This has just happened to me and I am pretty damn grumpy about it.
If the availability of parts in Australia is good could someone send a URL of a reliable dealer in Sydney or Melbourne who will pickup the phone take your order and ship it pronto to NZ. OH by the way I asked my local Triumph dealer to do this and he said they can't as they have to go through Triumph NZ then via UK.

I don't have any issues with my dealer www.citycoastmotorcycles.com.au in Wollongong.
Give them a call and see if they can help you out.
I do believe though that, these days with the cost of inventory, almost all dealers will need to order parts from the Australian importers rather than actually carry stock.
Then you add in the recession and even the importers will be keeping light inventories. Take a look at stocking figures for businesses world wide. Lowest level in decades.
A sign of the times?

No problems with Moto Arena on the Gold Coast, they carry most of the usual consumables, cables pads etc, very rare they haven`t got stuff like that in stock and as long as Triumph Australia has it in, they usually get it delivered within 2 days for no extra charge.
I`ve owned most of the major brands since I`ve lived here and apart from Ducati and Aprilia, which were dreadfuly slow, it`s the same story with all the other marques.
I also own a Honda CT110 (posty bike) and have been waiting 2 weeks for a speedo cable inner.

Parts and accessories Australia
Anyone finding that local dealers add considerable markup to Trumph Australia published prices? I'v had 2 quotes from 2 seperate dealers on a touring seat for a Triumph America. (published price $381.35) I got $495 and $421. I'm now tring to find an overseas source to buy it.
Triumph Australia has no contact information or email address to lodge a customer complaint against these rogue dealerships.

Found a good discount supplier
I have finally found a great supplier for Triumph bits. The shop is North Country Yamaha in California. The parts guy is Jason and is prepared to discount from recommended retail. I just got my foot boards from him and even after adding $70 US for shipping, I still got them way cheaper than here in Aus. Their website is www.ncy-motorsports.com
