Twins upgrade with EFI

From Powersports Buisiness news.

Triumph upgrades twins with EFI

Powersports Business
Tuesday September 9, 2008

All of Triumph Motorcycles’ new 2009 parallel twin-engine platforms will have electronic fuel injection, stated a company press release. The upgrade affects all the Modern Classics, including the Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Scrambler and Thruxton. The America and Speedmaster, in the cruiser segment, also have the upgrade.

The fuel injectors were incorporated into the bikes by the throttle bodies, so they look like carburetors. The changeover from carburetors to electronic fuel injection is in direct response to European emissions legislation.

In 2009, all the Triumph parallel twin powered models in North America will receive this update, which exceeds Euro 3 as well as EPA and CARB emissions standards.

I think you need some more categories there. I am putting on V&H straight shots now, but waiting to install the air cleaner until I can afford the remap. The guy at NHRS says it won't need a remap, but the MOCO says it will. I figure better safe than sorry.

You shouldn't have to pay for a remap, any Triumph dealer should load the 'aftermarket' tune into the ECU for you for free. Ask them to reset the adaptions and check the throttle balance at the same time.
