one thing it does confirm is that the shot of the bike in Wales from early in the year is the bike in this pick...unfortunately.

One thing that you can be sure of is that everyones taste is different.
When I bought my new Bonnie I looked at the America and the Speadmaster also and couldn't work out what they were or what they were trying to be. The Bonneville and T100 fills a void that only a Bonnie can fill. That satisfied my taste. As for the America and the Speadmaster, for a cruiser they're too gutless. They look good and they're cheap but what part of the market are they aiming at? I couldn't work it out.
However, obviously a heck of a lot of bikers around our area could, because they are selling like hot cakes. People that can't afford a Harley but still want a cruiser from a credible mark. I think I just worked it out!
So, I have no doubt whatsoever that a 1700/ 1850/ 1920 parallel twin cruiser will also sell.
I think the guys at Triumph do their homework before investing in any new project. If it hits the showroom floor, you can garentee it WILL sell.
I just wish they brought out a new, bigger TBird. I reckon a big bore triple would sell just as well. Triples are Triumphs hallmark just as big twins are Britains hallmark. Either way would have worked.

Two things I would like to add now that I've read the other threads.
1. When I refered to a big triple I meant parallel, like the TBird, not transverse like the Rocket III.
2. Obviously not too many of you have seen this: http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload...0watermark.jpg

Har[d]ley a Triumph Victory
I see nothing Triumph about this effort. It's a parallel twin, big deal, it would be easier to name the companies that have not made a parallel twin - so its nothing distinctive.

The frame and seating position is nothing special, could any number of motorcycle brands. The whole thing could be a Korean or Chinese entry.

If someone ran a competition 'Name this bike?' if it wasn't for the headlines you would only be guessing.

I sure hope the 'Triumph managers/executive' have a different vision of the final product other wise it could be the biggest flop since the Norton rotary [a good idea, but not what the public wanted] or the Ford Edsel/Nissan Cedric/Leyland P76 [pick a country].

I understand they are going to add two more wheels and a retractable canvas top and call it a convertable.

I dunno, I own a Speedmaster, and I love her to death. I wasn't looking for anything specific when I bought her but the best, most reliable bike in my range. And I haven't been disappointed yet, including when I found out yesterday that its probably my CDI box thats keepin the bike from starting and its so **** expensive Im going to miss half the season. Its an electrical part, and they fail... especially when subjected to unusual things like alot of battery charging. I still stand by the fact that for the money, yer hard pressed to find a better bike.. and Ive been told this by others, this isnt my own assumption. Sure, she's got plastic fenders. Yeah, there was a designer sleepin on the job when they figured out the air injection and where to put it... or the air box. But until this latest thing, she's been dead reliable for slightly above-average use (8k miles last season) and minimal service. And I have no problem keeping up with (and passing) Harleys twice her cc. For the record, I dont want a Harley... unless they a) make the Deluxe powerful, b) make the old war bikes affordable AND powerful, or c) make a V-Rod that corners. Im not interested.. Id much rather have a Daytona 955.

YEAH THE ONLY REASON I DRIVE A TRIUMPH IS THEY ARE DIFFERNT. Granted I drive a speedmaster but it still get "thats a cool bike," and looks a little bit old school for people to notice. The only reason i see harleys hondas and yamahas are cause they too are on 2 wheels. and yes the pics could be almost any bike in the world. I hope thay make it look "triumph" if they really make it.
