Triumph Enters Racing With Factory Team!!!!
Wow!
"Sep 28, 2007
From a press release issued by Scuderia SC Caracchi:
Today, September 28th, 2007, on the fantastic stage of Paris Motorcycle Show, with presence of Simon Warburton, Triumph Motorcycles Co. Product Manager, and Stefano Caracchi, Scuderia SC Team Owner, has been made official the partnership between Team SC and Triumph to compete in 2008 World Supersport Championship with the Daytona 675. This is the Triumph’s first venture into racing on the world stage since the company was re-established in Hinckley."
Talk about a great news release...

Good! They're back in racing where they belong. Now let's hope at least one UK TV station covers the races.

I don't know anything about "Team SC," but if they blow this Triumph is just going to completely embarass themselves and the Big 4 riders will just laugh Triumph off of the racing scene. I wish Triumph luck, because it's going to take more than just "bike of the year" to be the next world champion.

Man, Who Cares if Triumph doesn't do well !!!
Let's applaud the new partnership now. If they experience challenges, what's wrong with a little trial-n-error, at least they are jumping in!
Maybe I should just turn off TriumphRat.Net and give up, I mean the other four manufacturers are just so big and established it would be pointless to even try
Ok, I'll calm down now - someone struck a nerve

I'm sure they "embarrassed themselves" when they teamed with Valmoto for a year and all they did in that short time was win the Junior TT, took a pole and a couple of podiums in British Supersport all on a bike that had a few months of development... and was a "step behind" the "Big 4"...
I'm glad Triumph is back racing... I'd love to see a concerted effort on all three sanctioned trails... AMA/BSB/WSB Get out the rumored 1100 Daytona and go racing Superbike class too...
OUTSTANDING MOVE TRIUMPH!!

This is a good thing for Triumph. They need to BUY talented riders and develop riders as well. What works for the Yankees will work in any sport.......and the old car racer saying What wins on Sunday...sells on Monday......Triumph will only embaress themselves if this is is a half assed effort running partial seasons....UNKNOWN riders and DNFs from mechanical failures.

I'm with Shawn who cares if they don't do to well.
What ever happens they are bold to enter and will learn a lot from it which can only further help Triumph R & D which we will al benefit from anyway.
Yee haa! very exciting news.............Yahoooo buckarooo!

I'm with Dave
We need to remember that a good percentage of the reason to race is to develop/test & innovate... sure it sells units, but it also makes a better product for us all, so if all they garner form the experience is experience, then they will have won.
I think the 675 has proven it can run with the pack in few private efforts, so they should be able to make a show with a factory team and an established racing team.
They also come into the scene as a Gaanormous underdog, giving them an advantage of coming from behind. It will also get them more attention as the underdog/newcomer... Triumph sells bikes without racing. Even if they don't do great, will they sell LESS bikes?
