I wonder how they plan to take over a privately held company?

I don't understand how they think a takeover in the usual sense would be applicable. They'd have to make Mr Bloor an "offer he can't refuse."

umm i think the defining term here is 'cult', these guys by the brand and you lose the 'cult' status of the bikes because they are no longer British.

Will people continue to by the bike and keep its 'cult' status alive if this happens?

Somehow, I just don't see this one happening. Not that Bloor and Co might sell at some point (he is a businessman), but I'm thinking he will want to see a better likelyhood of success or international success. All as long as he doesn't need the money.

And the article isn't exactly accurate in its description of the Bloor-Triumph story.

What?

How do you take over a privately held company. Has Triumph gone public and issued stock? He might sell but from what I have seen that doesn't seem likely. You could buy Ducati if you were looking to bury some of your profits. Story seems shakey at best.

Interesting non-news... it won't happen.

Ever.

Thank god.

Exactly, there's no danger of being taken over since Triumph is a privately held company. I doubt JB is worried about prophets, it took him 10 years before he made a dime on his investment in Triumph. I doubt that after all the money he's personally poured into raising this company to what it is today he's going to toss it to some foreign interest just as he's starting to make a prophet.
Story sounds like moto-tabloid babble. Even if Baja is serious it doesn't seem likely.

Leave it a British company. These bikes were meant to be built by Brits in Britain! (Even if most of them are assembled in Thialand....ssshhh!)
