Damn there's a lot of good places to ride!!!!!
Would love to make it to the Alps someday.

I was on a bike trip this past week and stumbled across a great road. Virginia Route 16 in western Va. From Tazewell Va. to Marion Va. it is nice and twisty with great pavement and NO traffic. Its kind of like the "Dragon" but longer (about 33 miles) and not jammed packed with cruisers putting along.

HWY 33 in California leaving ojai and heading nowhere is hands down one of the best roads in the world.

Agreed, klutke. Even after you're out of the twisties, dropping down into the Carrizo Plain is impressive. Taking 166 to Santa Maria from there is a good scenic ride.

The Rattlesnake

Rattlesnake Grade, Washington Hwy. 129 -- 13 miles, 110 curves from Lewiston, Idaho, southwest into Oregon.

I've done the Dragon. This is better, but they don't take your picture.

When I first did the Dragon about 30 years ago it was just a neat road. I stopped by there on a trip earlier this year and it is just one giant "Cluster F____" I'll never go back. Your road looks MUCH better !!!

I agree, the Dragon is a way overcrowded and needs to be paved.

Best roads for me personally are scenic, quiet, copless, and curvy.

I try to get to that area at least once a year.
