Daytona 675 gets the R treatment

By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Oct. 21, 2010

Photos of a new higher-spec version of the Triumph Daytona 675 have been leaked ahead of the bike’s official debut at the 2010 EICMA show in Milan. Hungarian website MotoInfo published photos of the new Daytona 675R alongside official images of Triumph’s new Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC, which was also supposed to be revealed at EICMA in early November.
While Triumph has been dropping hints about the new Tigers for months, the new Daytona 675R comes as a relative surprise.

The red subframe stands out against the new white and black paint on the Triumph Daytona 675R.

No official information was released but the photos reveal some of the upgrades over the standard Daytona 675. The R version adds carbon mudguards Brembo brakes and Ohlins suspension, a first for a stock Triumph.

Visual distinctions include new graphics, red subframe and matching striping on the wheels. As for performance figures, we’ll have to wait for the Triumph Daytona 675R’s EICMA launch to see if there are any changes from the standard Daytona 675’s claimed 124hp at 12600rpm and 53 ft-lb. at 11700rpm.
For more pictures, visit our 2011 Triumph Daytona 675R gallery. Check back in the first week of November for coverage of the official launch at EICMA.
