EICMA 2009: Triumph Speed Triple SE
Special edition gets new shocks and two-tone paint
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Nov. 11, 2009
Triumph will produce a special edition Speed Triple with updated suspension and two-tone paint. Introduced at the 2009 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, the Triumph Speed Triple SE will have a Tornado red color scheme with a Crystal White center stripe and black pinstripe with matching fly screen and seat cowl.
The new suspension system, which will also be added to all Speed Triple models, has updated internal components. According to Triumph, the rear spring will be 5% softer while the fork will have less dive under heavy braking.
The Triumph Speed Triple gets the two-toned treatment with this special edition version.
The Speed Triple SE will otherwise be mechanically identical to the regular model, now entering its fifth year of production.

that bike does look amazing. so why do all the other bikes that are special additions get upgrades like better suspension, better brakes, and when they release the bonnie or thruxton as a special addition it's just gets a different paint job?

Because those bikes are not considered sport bikes. They are basically considered to be standard models, intended more for show than "go"....

Eat your heart out VMax. Looks like a great combination of show and go for the street. Speedmaster, TBird and Rocket is more my style but this could a lot of fun (and police trouble).

Red/White special edition Speed Triple is shown on the UK site but NOT on the USA site under 2010 bikes. I guess that means we don't get it.

Yep, if the funds had of been available one of these would be at home instead of the 2009 Sprint I bought instead.
I saw one in JCS in Perth, what a great looking bike...

just ordered
I have just ordered a red and white SE which I will collect in 3 months time when I get back to Australia from Afghan. Arrow exhausts, bar end mirrors, and some anodized bits and bobs. Just trying to decide on a tail tidy.
I cannot wait to get back and enjoy an Australian summer on my new toy. I hope the Mrs will understand me splitting the time between her and new bike! Has anyone got any pic's of their's on the road?
