2011 Middleweight Sportbike Shootout - Track [Video]

Last week we brought you the street portion of our Oddball Sportbike shootout featuring three machines that are outliers within the confines of the fairly rigid sportbike category but are competitively priced.

For street riders this discrepancy in engine displacement between the Ducati 848 EVO, Suzuki GSX-R750 and Triumph Daytona 675R means nothing. But at the racetrack, where you're typically defined by one of two choices — 600cc or 1000cc — these three machines aim to carve a niche of their own. Welcome, then, to the track portion of Motorcycle.com's Oddball Sportbike shootout.

That was a great video, thanks for sharing! I found it interesting that the Suzuki was the fastest but the Triumph and Ducati has "character", great perspective.

the bikes do meet on the track

Currently the 675, 600's and the 848 are in the same class in AMA supersport racing. The duck buries them with the execrable Jason Disalvo riding. Recently, his team was using non-conforming fuel and were punished by not allowing a practice session. Big deal.

Nice. Definitely like the 675 more than the 848 for street riding. But i have never ridden on the Suzuki.
