This thread is for posting details of items off other bikes that can be used on our bikes.

Post the item and manufacturer, details of installation, notes on ease of fitment, and ooooh, all that good stuff.

NOTE: To keep the thread easy to follow, "ooh ah" comments and general chit chat will be removed, but please post comments on how you feel about your own fitment in your post.

Mufflers

I fitted the Emgo Reverse Cone mufflers with the adapters at a total cost of $141 delivered. They fit fine, they sound fine - chrome seems good quality. Definitely more power. That and a K&N in the standard air box. Cannot see any justification for spending $500+ on Arrows. They cannot be that much better - law of diminishing returns. Need to open out the air box opening to make it breathe a little better so a lower cost option for that would be welcome.

Like the foot pegs - exactly which model do I need to order for the front 2012 Bonneville T100 (The Far East version).

Tec Centre Stand

Hi Folks,

I've read plenty of posts about people who've fitted TEC exhausts on their Bonnies but not some of TEC's other parts. Has anyone here fitted a Tecbikeparts centre stand to their bike? I have just bought one for my 2012 mag wheel Bonnie and am having a hell of a time trying to get it to fit on right. Mounted on the left side of the frame lugs it hit's the side stand; on the right it touches the rear tyre. Any ideas/experiences?

Matt

Parts from other bikes that fit Bonnie's

Hi
I put the original bars of my 07 Roadking & a set of HD nostalgic grips on my 04 T-100 recently. I think they don't look out of place, and the mirors don't look as dickie, (they're still going tho):D.
Whata ya recon?
PS: you have to trim the inside of the houseing a wee bit to fit the grips.
I purposly left it a wee bit close, now I have a cruise control, and my hand (which has been broke a few times thanks me)
Cheers:)

Bonnie fuel sensor

The low fuel sensor on my '10 Bonnie may be bad - is there any cheaper substitute part? The OEM sensor is about $200 (ouch!) Haven't cracked open the tank for the fuel filter change (but it is time) and would like to kill two birds with one stone. Or is there a procedure to test/clean out the sensor?

Note: the light is working, it comes on at the initial system start then goes off, but won't light up for low fuel. But on the other hand, I found out that it takes just over 3.7 gals to fill an empty tank. And another interesting thing - fuel starvation occurs sooner while going downhill.

I put 2011 Speed Triple mirrors on the Bonneville Mag to replace the stock lolipops. Also, I used the stock S3 bar ends as hole filler caps on the pillian peg bracket after removal. They fit perfectly and look trick.

Also put a 160/60/17 Pirelli MT60 (4.5" tire) on a 3.5 inch Bonneville mag which calls for a 130/80/17 3.5 inch. There is no sidewall bulging and looks fat and sweet!

Fuse block terminals

It has probably been covered, but over in the sprint forum a crimp terminal has been found that fits inside all the modern triumph fuse blocks:

http://www.triumphrat.net/maintenan...-the-oem-sprint-fuse-block-3.html#post2522277

So if you're like me and it was starting to look like a rats nest of wires and fuses under your seat from all the mods, here is a cheap and easy way to clean it up, if you have blanks in your fuse block.

TL; DR: the 3-8331, 3-8332 and other wire gauge terminals from Vehicle Wiring Products UK are an acceptable fit, with a quick and minor adjustment.

Speedmaster

I have a -07 Speedmaster and I didn't like the cast wheels. So I bought hubs, rims ans spokes from CWC in Birminham UK. Its the same hubs as on Tiger and (3 cylindre) Thunderbird Sport in front (both have twin-discs), and included America in rear. Everything fits right on!:D
I had to adjust my front mudguard mounting holes a bit since I went up to 19" in front.
I bought a hub for a Thunderbird sport for the front wheel. I think it looks better. Its a slightly difference in the area where the spokes are inserted. The Tiger is more "off-roadish" if you ask me.;)

I have a 180/55-17" rear tyre and there is plenty of room.:)

My research indicates that there are several critical factors.

1 - width of the axle, and wheel...if it fits, move to step 2
2 - placement of the disk for braking...if it won't work, go looking for more
3 - shaft diameter (optional if it has removable bearings)

Spacing on either side can be managed.
Bearings can be managed. Here in Omaha, there is a bearing place that can get me any inner Diameter matched to any outer diameter and just about any width of the bearing.

Once you have the right bearings, then almost any wheel combo will fit, as long as you can make the brake disk match up. If it's drum brakes, then you have to make sure the arm is on the right side.

otherwise...you can do almost anything with any wheel on any bike.

Hi All,

Probably already posted, but just installed a 2003 Kawasaki 750 Zepher H-3 vacuum petcock (freshly renewed with a K&L kit) on a 2006 Bonneville T100. Fit well with no hassle using shorter mounting bolts, took vacuum from port on carb manifold and added an inline gas filter. Really excellent results with good fuel flow. Now, no worries about forgetting to turn the short lived, prone to sticking and leaking, stock petcock on and off.

Hi Steve!
Have a look at this website, a website I use and strongly recommends.
www.worldoftriumph.com Have a look and you know what I mean! They have a partslocater with "demolitionpicture". Easy to see, easy to find. Good luck!
John
I'll second that. They're a very quick and efficient outfit and the website is a joy to use.

As regards part numbers get the parts listing for the part you require, the part number shown is their private number, not the Factory's, click on the item and it goes into the shopping basket. To reveal the actual Factory part number you go to the basket and click on the item description. The part number then comes up.

Here's the listing and drawing for the item Steve requires, it's item 1:

Yamaha Petcock

The Yamaha 3FY-24500-01 petcock will fit the Bonneville.

You do need to get two 6x1.0mm 16 mm long bolts (I used cap screws). You need a shorter fastener since the stock spacer isn't needed.

Here's the petcock with a new fuel line. The fuel line needs to be rerouted because of the rear-pointing spigot on the petcock. I used 1/4" auto store fuel line and routed it straight up from the carbs (not through the engine mount as stock). The line was a tight fit at the carb, but went on fine with a little oil. I removed the small fuel strainer sock at the carb inlet.

A word about the fuel line.... The stock spigots are 8 mm and the 1/4 in line is 6.35 mm. The Yamaha spigot is 6 mm, so the 1/4" line fits with no problem. The stock fuel line is 7 mm ID by my measure, The difference in flow area is about 20% - not a huge deal. I would think that the tiny strainer sock at the carb inlet the I removed provides more restriction than the smaller fuel line.

The line I used is reinforced rubber, not fuel line with an internal plastic tube (I've seen some with a blue plastic internal tube). That lets the line stretch over the 8 mm carb spigot. Here's what I used.
