Speedmaster - cornering clearance

Hi, I'm a new rider researching and trying bikes before I buy my first one. For middleweight cruisers the Speedmaster compares favorably for me on so many levels. It's almost perfect, actually. One thing I'm concerned about is the cornering clearance seeing as it's a cruiser. During a test ride I didn't want to scrape it and didn't get a feel for how hard I can push it in corners. For you experienced Speedmaster / America riders, how does the cornering clearance fare for you? Do the pegs or does the exhaust scrape first? Would you like more clearance?

I have read that among cruisers the Speedmaster and America are near the top of class in terms of lean angle which is one reason I'm pursuing the model. I recognize if I really want to lean then I should pursue other types of bikes, and I have a list accordingly, it's just that the Speedmaster has everything else I'm looking for.

Would it be heresy to raise the suspension? Can it be done? Would this ruin the center of gravity / dynamics?

Thanks for any answers you can give me.

I have a 1999 Legend TT and am seriously considering trading it for a Speedmaster, simply because the Legend is so fast it scares me. You've really got to keep the RPMs up or it lugs. In the Bikez specs for the Legend, it's rated at 60.2 mph in 5.2 seconds. Do you Speedmaster riders think this would be a wise trade?

Army mom. No need to afraid of a fast bike if your brain, common sense throttle hand wiring is intact! No way I would trade a legend for ANY cruiser. My tiger gets to 60 so fast its spooky as well and 100 in a blink of an eye after 60,I couldn't imagine getting rid of it and only having my low slow ba to ride.

They're from a HD Dyna. I made some custom post extensions to account for the extra width. It's a little rougher on the back on bumpy roads, but it tucks the wheel into fender a lot nicer.

Scrapping pegs

Just finished a track course playing with the sporties . Much scrapping of pegs but not a scratch on the pipes or the center stand. Bike was as steady as a rock the whole time on stock tires and shocks. I love my trumpy !
